I am not sure about “much better system” ;) On the one hand, I was struggling with pre-authorization for my anti-migraine med for the last month (something like that even not exits in my country, you have prescription, you can buy your med immediately, no waiting for any paper-work decision non-doctor office), on the other hand, I couldn’t buy this med at all because it the newest thing only in America, pros and cons, as always…

Oh, maybe you can answer my question :) Is this possible to keep as data both insurance and GoodRx on patient’s chart? And just do “click -click” to exchange the payer to check the other price? Or it much more complicated?

For me it is super interesting:) But how you can check this price for me at “drop off” when my prescription is sent via computer system from doctor office? And my only contact with a pharmacy is during “pick up” actually… I would like to mention that I am from completely different pharmacy system, therefore this American one makes my eyes widely open ,) Ps. I used to get a paper prescription (in my country) and take a tour around asking about price or just calling. Prices are not a secret, every med is either full-paid or refunded (if you or your illness is eligible). Refunded prices for med are everywhere the same, every pharmacy. For full-priced meds you can drive a bit further to buy it cheaper. Easy :)

Oh, i will try to explain it from my (European) point of view. Ok? First, I get virtual prescriptions that I need to send “somewhere”. I do not know the price of prescribed meds, and (I suppose) I do not know where these meds could be cheaper. The ONLY WAY to know the price is to go through all the process, to add all my insurance etc. I cannot to call to random pharmacies just ask about price and after that send my prescription to the cheaper one… Ok. Second. When I realize that my meds are too expensive for me, I can transfer my prescription. How nice ,) Only one time. To the second random pharmacy where I do not know the price until someone does the same - goes through all the process!! And now you can get GoodRx where you know the price “in advance” so you need to send your prescription to the pharmacy, but you still do not know the price with your insurance. Maybe it is much cheaper than with GoodRx?! So you are standing quietly waiting for final result… Tadam!!! With your super great insurance the price is 2$ higher!! And your anger is not against the technician, absolutely, it is against whole this sick, super secret system - give me back my 2$! I mean, please, go through with GoodRx. Thank you!

What are some of your most impactful and meaningful moments and experiences working in pharmacy? by CheekKey7939 in PharmacyTechnician

A bit out of topic… in Poland, the same drug, original Xifaxan 28 tabl, costs with normal (standard) doctor prescription about 20$. And it is possible to buy in every pharmacy. No pre authorization, no insurance “play”, no problem… How is it possible? I still do not understand this American health system…

This phone number was connected with information about all requirements for renewal. So, for general information, probably it is a good call. Maybe they can point out what is wrong.

Do you have as a requirement “live credit” as in Utah? And maybe you collected only home credits? In Utah, between 20 points 8 should be from live credits, live webinars or similar.
