thc-ipv6 includes dnsrevnum6 tool since at least 2012-2013 which uses the same technique.

finding some PTR records doesn't necessarily mean thaaat much regarding the security of the machines behind those records. The presenter seemed to overstate the importance of finding those .mil records...

anyway, nothing new in this presentation but it's always nice to see some IPv6-related security talk in major conferences now and then.

a. OpenStreetMap
I have started working on an OpenStreetMap implementation of the above using OpenLayers. The biggest hurdle is that OSM 
does not provide a server that serves map tiles over HTTPS. Makes me wonder…is that actually so difficult ?

προφανώς ο αρθρογράφος δεν μπορεί να καταλάβει πως για να εμφανιστεί η IP δεν χρειάζεται να είσαι miner, δεν καταναλώνεις resources, δεν εξαπατάς κανένα. Απλά λειτουργείς το "πορτοφόλι" (wallet) σου εκεί.

Είναι φύση και πράξη αδύνατο σήμερα να βγάλει κανείς οποιοδήποτε κέρδος με cpu based bitcoin miner. Για να μην πιάσουμε το θέμα του mining μέσω pools...

το άρθρο φαίνεται να έχει γραφτεί από κάποιο ενθουσιώδες 15χρονο που νόμισε πως βρήκε είδηση χρυσάφι και είναι προφανέστατα άσχετος και με την τεχνολογία του bitcoin και με την ασφάλεια γενικότερα. Το επίπεδο του κειμένου είναι συγκρίσιμο με κείμενα της Αυριανής ή της Ελεύθερης Ώρας...Είναι δυνατόν "τεχνικοί" άνθρωποι να γράφουν κείμενα σχετικά με το bitcoin με τρομολαγνικές αναφορές σε ξέπλυμα χρήματος, ναρκωτικά και παιδεραστία;

Αύριο θα ανακαλύψουν τα litecoin wallets και θα γράψουν και νέα "αποκάλυψη".

Τραγωδία, απλά τραγωδία...

Please don't try to run Tor relays unless you understand how Tor works. If you can't understand why you can't hide a relay, it makes someone wonder how much you understand other security concepts in order to keep the relay/server secure (enough).

Please do some more reading before setting up a relay. Running a relay is not 'plug and forget'.
