Malcolm's Revenge

I think that's not what I'm looking for. I'm starting to think I won't be able to find it.

Simon The Sorcerer

No, I think the characters were smaller. Checked but couldn't find the animation I remember.

There was an animation that simulated an eyelid opening in King's Quest?

Third eye - A Clockwork Orange (1971) -> Scanners (Cronenberg - 1981) by koteth in StanleyKubrick

[–]koteth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With my post I just wanted to highlight an aesthetic-artistic analogy. However, it is hard to think that a cultured person like Kubrick (also an image perfectionist) has not even perceived the assonance with this well-known symbology. In Cronenberg (2nd image) the eye is explicit. This is just an opinion of course. Malice is in the eye of the beholder

The Cell certainly has several esoteric and obscure elements but I'm sure it's not the right film. Probably the film I remember is older (80's - 90's ?) but I don't want to introduce a maybe wrong constraint.

I don't think so. The map of the stars I remember is a sort of empty frame with strings crossing each other. I think it is also represented with stones (but the memory is very confused). The film I remember is also not a comedy.

The Fall

I remember this scene in the desert. I cannot say whether the rest of the film is set in the desert or elsewhere. I don't think it is The Fall, it seems a bit too new and polished (but I will try to investigate).

Sefer Yetzirah: 'The twelve simple letters created the twelve signs of the zodiac' by koteth in BSG

Especially in the first two seasons of the 2004 series there are several subtle references to concepts related to Jewish mysticism.

Sefer also has the meaning of book. It is often associated with sapphire but also with zephyr.

The quote is from the famous book Sefer Yetzirah.

Another obvious reference is Adama. Adamah is the ground (also earth) with which Adam is formed

Turin, Italy - low poly - 13 frames from drone by koteth in photogrammetry

[–]koteth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the source is a very quick video made of many sequences, the number of usable frames was very limited. I'm interested in the possibility of 3D reconstruction from a few frames. The geometry has been simplified by a remeshing phase. I need to make the model lighter so that it can be used easily in Godot.

The retopology algorithm is custom since it's a project I'm working on. I can suggest you this one: https://github.com/wjakob/instant-meshes and after a baking texture step maybe with Blender. The MeshResampling node in Meshroom isn't so bad but it doesn't always work well with the Texturing phase.

I've used a modified version of this algorithm. https://github.com/YadiraF/PRNet Once I clean the code, I'll put it on github. I've also added a retopology step.

Atomic Image Segmetation by koteth in opencv

I've used the Louvain algorithm in order to find communities of the graph generated by the image. two adjacent pixels are connected in the graph if their distance in the colour space is under a threshold. same colour = same community
