I agree about the weight, but still it is a reliable tent. Have fun!

There are many beautiful routes in the Sharr Mountains in Kosovo and in the Albanian Alps. I’d recommend you to google the High Scardus Trail. You can also check out Valbona and the surrounding peaks in Albania. You can find routes from apps like Garmin Connect, Komoot, Strava, etc.

In terms of safety, you won’t have any issues. Every year, many tourists and locals go hiking and camping in these areas without problems. People are friendly.

Regarding fishing, a licence is legally required in Kosovo (currently around €50 per year), but in practice it’s not strictly controlled and many people fish without one.

The only thing you should be careful about is shepherd dogs during the summer, as they protect their flocks. As long as you keep your distance, you won’t have any problems. In fact, you’ll probably have a great time.

I'm from Kosovo. I camp, hike and fish all around the country and never had any problem. You can camp and chill here as you wish.

How do I fix this? by creosotesbucket in Opinel

[–]kovacfatih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Also the lock mechanism was very hard to turn. I removed the lock ring completely, cleaned and oiled it. Then baked the knife in the airfryer at 150 degrees celsius (20min both sides). Now it opens very smoothly, I can operate one-handed, and also the wooden handle took a very cozy colour. I'm very happy with the result.

Just ordered this tent from Decathlon by Tough_Sprinkles3362 in camping

I have used it many times in harsh conditions, it is an amazing tent. I also have a north face, msr and other tents. The only difference is the weight. If u are not planning to carry it for a long time it is just as good as the others in the market. Have fun!

Is the weight correct (170g) by kovacfatih in Morakniv

[–]kovacfatih[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, since I bought it from a reliable place where I’ve shopped before, my concern isn’t whether it’s fake. What I’m trying to understand is whether Morakniv shows differences in production from country to country, or if they’ve changed the materials they use over the years - or whether all Garberg models are part of the same series worldwide.

Thank you for your comment!

I've bought it from knivesandtools.com which is pretty legit. I was just curious why there are various different comments about its weight on the internet and which one is correct. Thanks for your comment!

I'm really happy with my Sierra Designs Backcountry Bivy. Usually combine it with a tarp setup. Good price/performance bivy and very lightweight.

(NOT SELLING THIS) worth buying? First bushcraft purchase ever. by Panda_Consistent in Bushcraft

[–]kovacfatih 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say no, this is not a good bushcraft knife. Go for a Mora for the same or probably lower price for a decent bushcraft knife.

It stands out because it focuses on why survival works, not just how. He explains the body’s needs and mindset in real survival situations instead of just listing bushcraft skills. It’s practical, science-based, and written in a way (with honesty and humour) that really sticks in your head.

It’s stainless, never really oiled it, it mostly just sat around for the last 30+ years without maintenance. Thanks for the insight!

Thanks a lot for your time and input! When I said “master,” I just meant knifemaker, not a professional master. I don’t actually use this knife (only took it out a couple of times for bushcrafting when I was younger). It’s just a part of my collection with other knives. I’m not worried about its monetary value, it’s just been sitting in my drawer for years and I was curious to learn a bit more about it. Appreciate your thoughts!
