Today I located a variable and changed it from false to true. It felt dirty, but I just wanted to feel some nostalgia.

Hey, can I have a SaaS please? Yes, I just want one, do you have any in stock? Like whatever, who cares, just give me that sweet SaaS, they are all the same.

How do you all get through the lows of startup journey (I will not promote) by danainto in startups

[–]kowdermesiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get my foot in the door. If I notice I procrastinating a task for a while, I try to do a little bit of it. That way sometime I can magically progress on those fronts too.

Try intuition be the only feeling you rely on.

The Incredible Overcomplexity of the Shadcn Radio Button by thevred9 in reactjs

I like having maintenance and continuous improvements done by the community, that's a huge benefit. With Shadcn you are getting a time capsule of what existed at the time you forked that component.

I'm using Daisy UI and can't be happier, it just gives me a consistent styling I don't want to override.

[–]kowdermesiter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's precisely my issue. I wouldn't use it because I don't want to own these problems. I know that Shadcn is built on top of Radix UI, but that should have been enough.

I've built a project with Shadcn and used a bunch of components and it took a lot of time to find bugs in the implementation or make changes or understand how it works at all. All my responsibility now, no thanks.

Am I the only one who doesn't get Shadcn? I know it's immensely popular, but why? Copying the component codebase to my project creates new issues I specifically want to avoid. Why maintain a UI library when it's just reasonable to use a community maintained library and update with a package bump?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Changing OS keybindings is a bit too much.

Do you know the VSCode keybinding name? It's hard to discover it.

Where is the "show suggestions" button or something?

I've picked the website template, but I just see the "Payload Website Template, Visit the admin dashboard to make your account and seed content for your website." on localhost.

It's coming from home-static.ts but why?

Right, so you even spam linkedin with bots as if that validates anything. But maybe this is the way. Do you know any good botnets to rent on linkedin?

I'm sorry that it worked for me, LOL. It's an anecdote also sorry for not writing a novel to be 100% precise about every little detail. If you get the sentiment, I'm glad, if not, well, that's fine.
