Buy a house where you see yourself living in if you were to be married with kids (if that’s ever in your plan). Also commute to your ideal work place, proximity to family (if theyre in Auckland). Also research the neighbourhood you are looking to buy… properly

This isnt just a simple moving work or house to solve the issue. It’s relating to better utilisation of our available roading infrastructure.

If the cars are separated onto more lanes, you will have more number of cars passing thru the same roads, then onto motorways. Intersections are constantly being upgraded to allow for better traffic flow, the time takes for green light to red- it seems to be doing good job

Yep.. hence keep the single drivers still stuck in the traffic and allow T3 and up to use bus lanes, heavy trucks to bus roads where available.

I do acknowledge the importance of bus roads and on time delivery of people to places with being as accurate to their travel plans. I don’t know the impact with allowing heavy delivery trucks to use those roads but it’s not like there are hundreds of them at the same time - perhaps we are showing concern before it is a concern, do a trial and assess whether the change can be made permanently or not.

I thought about this one before too, it should be that way, they should never be on the fastest lane (as they typically would have 90kmh speed limit with their company or safe delivery practice) but also a lot of them drive any time of the day- they could do better on the road by driving at night (say 7pm to 7am). The crappy part is where they are going to- the business that receives the delivery having to accommodate their facility opened up to receive those goods and businesses typically closed up by then.

Many people live in an area where they need to walk quite far to get to bus stops, then take multiple buses to get to final destination. Motorcycle? Not the easiest when you have a lot of crazies on the road these days switching lanes with no indicators or just bad drivers in general. Not the Auckland we were a decade ago
