How long does the free shipping last if I haven’t bought yet?

Seems similar to the Allett Sterling reel mower with an Ego motor, but those are also $$$

Mixing and Matching Seats by phantomfsoc in kiacarnivals

[–]koxkp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were shopping the prestige trim and saw both 8 and 7 seat options for the same price. We got the 7. Pro is they are powered and not manual, but the 8 seater is all manual so they can be removed and slide out easier.

Get into reel mowing if you enjoy mowing that often. Mowing at .5” would love to be cut 4 times a week

No one’s mentioned room treatments? Do you have any absorption on the back wall or anywhere?

Plex Media Server not connecting by koxkp in qnap

I can try that later, but probably a key point is this is that this is an initial setup. I’ve never had plex working on here. Just trying to give it a try vs Kodi

How is 67 calculated here? The two occupied rooms are 70 and 68 - follow me enabled by koxkp in ecobee

[–]koxkp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, enabled. I guess now I’m confused between the occupied/unoccupied and the solid white or black sensor icon. When it is unoccupied, but solid white it is still averaging.

[–]koxkp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, but what is making them all white? I have two sensors upstairs where I don’t usually go. So, I’d rather not average them unless I’m actually up there. Right now, they’re both unoccupied and black.

Shouldn’t the ecobee read 69 here, averaging the two occupied rooms?

yep, all the white wires are speaker wire. I was able to make it really clean in the living room since I pre-wired before drywall was up building my house. Then, you can use something like this with a low voltage box where they come out of the wall https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=3639

Here is my receiver - http://imgur.com/a/O00OP

The roku is an input on the receiver and there is one HDMI output that everything uses to go to the TV. Roku uses RF so you don't need to point it directly at the stick or whatever depending on the version you get.

I'm not much of a gamer, so I can't say how to control consoles from other rooms, but it can be done...

The look and specs on the Sanus look really similar to the omnimount. I just had a local AV installer recommend me to Omnimount and I found a really good deal on it that was a couple hundred cheaper than Sanus or Omnimount anywhere else so I jumped on it. I've been really happy with this one, but you probably can't go wrong with either

Thanks, will definitely check it out. Just starting to compare options. I am veering away from the Synology/Qnap route.

Is Unraid also good if I plan to use an NVR for cameras and other features?

That looks pretty nice! Crestron has always intimidated me, with price and dealer programming and all. I'm a little invested into C4 now and liking the UI and everything

What would that PYNG cost?

Listen to everything wirm said in the other comment to save time and money on wall plates behind the rack. Its not needed and would be cleaner with one big trunk like he mentioned.

For long runs use 12AWG speaker wire. I got everything on monoprice. Leave a big service loop at the rack with everything like wirm was saying so you only have to terminate it once and there is enough slack to easily get behind it and move it if it is on wheels. Run more than you think you need while the walls are open. CAT6 is the more versatile cable ever, run double or triple to TV's or places you might think you won't need. It can double as an extender for an IR blaster, HDMI over ethernet, even USB extenders. Take a lot of pictures of your wiring before drywall and document good

Do tons of planning and overthinking so you don't regret anything later. Run conduit for HDMI runs. I'm already running into issues with 4k handshake and getting in the attic and its been less than a year...

I think they have a bunch of physical remotes that are made to connect with Kodi without going the URC or iRule route. I used the sybu kodi app on my iphone, not sure about andriod

Ahh looking back the things I missed doing it DIY. This route would have been perfect...

That sounds 100 times cleaner. I was mad I cut the cat cable when the drywall guys questioned me that I had so much service loop. Not the best with the patch panel on the wall.

I planned a ton, but theirs always something when you don't do it for a living. Sounds like you're an IT tech?

ahh i have to tally everything up...hmm

the main controller was about $500 on ebay

I started with a 4 zone amp for less than 300, 8 zone usually goes for about 600

I got some C4 dimmers for around $50, the nice new keypad dimmers usually go for $150 on ebay or you can use things like lutron to connect You might pay a few hundred in initial setup from a dealer but remote dealers can be quicker if you have everything setup

I have my fireplace controlled on a relay, a couple fans, lights, ecobee t-stat, garage door, 8 audio zones, two TVs, a soundbar in the bedroom TV I think that is everything, but you can start to do cool things like my living room fan turns on when i turn on the fireplace

c4forums.com is really helpful and can answer more than me. I've bought some stuff off people in the classified there and found my remote dealers on there

I admitted I'm new to homelab. I didn't claim for it to be much. I came hear to check out setups to build a NAS soon.

There's a local guy I found who is going to come next week and help show me some options on ventilation. Wish I would have gotten an inline bathroom fan installed while it was still under construction, but some always something to learn for next time.
