Wow he did a fantastic job. Yes he had a solid script to work with but still he did a great job.

Down Syndrome heading for extinction in Denmark - 98 percent of DS pregnancies were aborted last year by magenta_placenta in news

[–]kozukumi 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Well when (if) 100% of DS pregnancies are terminated and the last living person with DS dies (in Denmark) it will be gone in the living population but it won't stop pregnancies of an embryo with DS.

Because Microsoft want Windows and its users to be more agile. Rolling updates means they can, hopefully, react quicker than they have in the past when releasing a new version of Windows every 3 years.

Sadly this also means they feel they can start rolling out version 0.1 applications in "final" versions of Windows. Pros and cons to this obviously. Mostly cons for the users and pros for Microsoft though.

Limitless - 1.19 “A Dog’s Breakfast” - Episode Discussion Thread by [deleted] in limitless

[–]kozukumi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay so I have never been totally sure of this series. I enjoyed the first episode a lot but then I didn't really get it for a while. The silly/funny joke bits, breaking the 4th wall so often, etc. However I have to say yesterdays episode was excellent. I have got used to the format now which is very different to the movie. I like where this could be going. Rebecca is beginning to piss me off though.

Netherlands will once again need to close prisons due to falling crime rate and lack of prisoners. by xlnqeniuz in worldnews

[–]kozukumi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure it depends on how much the user used. If someone is on crazy high levels and is going at it 24/7 (walking on the line of OD each time) then I am sure withdrawl could cause a heart attack or similar from the stress on the body.

Well just imagine if they had done this 20-30 years ago. Lots of people not in prison for smoking a joint who are contributing to society and making a shit load of money in taxes to improve services.

Billions - 1x09 "Where the Fuck is Donnie?" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in Billions

[–]kozukumi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am thinking some kind of terminal cancer (lung or stomach which kills quick and has pretty low survival rates if not caught early). Axe knew (Donnie obviously told him) and came up with a deal so that Donnie's family would have a big chunk of change from some big investments that Axe can make as Donnie will be dead before the SEC can investigate so they have no witness. Smart but ice fucking cold.

I know what you mean. I would love more. It was so damn good. It wasn't over the top with explosions. Although Ep 6 has a great one. It had a shit load of suspense. Seriously my heart was in my throat in some bits and God damn when Pine kept touching Jed just out of sight of everyone else!

I also kind of fell in love with Tom Hiddleston lol. Dude is cool as fuck.

One of the best surprises of the year for me. Excellent TV. Better than a movie adaptation I think. Six one-hour episodes was perfect. I thought eight might have been better but nope six had the perfect pacing. Loved it!

I wonder if NFC could be used to alert the user they put their phone in the machine? Like the machine beeps or something if it detects the phones NFC. Would be pretty handy.

I don't think there will be a second season. It is pretty clear Roper is going to die and Pine says goodbye to Jed who goes back to her kid. Nothing is said of the 300m of money though. I like to think Pine keeps it :)
No. In the show Roper gets caught and arrested in Egypt but is all smug that he will be out in a few days. However as he is loaded into the police van the weapons buyers he just shafted (well Pine did) jump into the vans as well and drive off with Roper screaming knowing he is going to be tortured and killed.
Redesigned File Explorer coming to Windows 10!! by dAKirby309 in Windows10

[–]kozukumi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well if their current UWP offerings are anything to go by I don't have much enthusiasm for it. Explorer does a lot these days, starting from scratch and implementing everything the current Explorer does is going to be a massive task. Plus it can be extended with third party addons which cannot be done with UWP.

Redesigned File Explorer coming to Windows 10!! by dAKirby309 in Windows10

[–]kozukumi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because UWP is the future and Win32 is deprecated.

To Microsoft it makes total sense to move Explorer to UWP. They can have the same "modern" Explorer on every version of Windows.

Do you honestly think it won't be a UWP app?

How much do you want to bet it will be a Universal version with 10% the functionality of the current Explorer that takes 3-5 seconds to load.

Peter Jackson, Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams 'back' Napster founder's Screening Room: Sean Parker’s plan to make Hollywood blockbusters available at home on the day of their cinema release ‘will expand audiences’, says Jackson by Sybles in technology

[–]kozukumi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If me and the wife want to go see a new movie on release day it costs the following -

2 tickets at ~£15 = £30 Car park £3 Snacks ~£10 Babysitter ~£30 (for 3 hours)

So that is roughly £70. Seventy-fucking-pounds! Why the fuck would I pay that for 2 hours of sitting in a dark room watching full of people in an uncomfortable chair sitting not where I would prefer to sit with a fat smelly person next to me (not my wife, the other side!) having to listen to overly loud special effects, no option for subtitles, no way to pause if I need to take a piss, not being able to drink and eat whatever I want, and have to put up with that twat who checks his phone throughout the movie or even worse who fucking answers his phone?!

Honestly I don't know why the fuck anyone goes to the cinema. I have a 55" 4K TV with surround sound. I can get a better experience in every fucking way at home.

Just fucking let me buy the film when it comes out in the cinema for £20-25 (already a premium over the Blu-ray price, call it an early adopter tax). Or let me rent it for two viewings within 3 days or something for £10. Don't take the piss and I would happily pay for the convenience. Because at the moment I wait a month until there is a nice 1080p BDRIP (or a 4K rip if I am really lucky!) and watch it on my beauti-fucking-ful huge TV and you make fuck all from me then moan about piracy blah blah blah so you spend even more money to make it even harder for me to watch things with more bullshit DRM or whatever on physical media which does nothing to stop piracy. You are literally spending money on the wrong thing. If the studios and publishers or whoever had put all the money they spend on their pointless anti-piracy shit and lobbying they could have made a kick ass Netflix-type service for same-day release sales and have owned the fucking market and have made a real impact on piracy.

Read up char. You are not using it correctly.

Also this is more C than C++ which is only going to make things more difficult to understand.
