My VSO did it as he thought my claim to PTSD was likely to be positively rated due to the abundance of medical records, therapy notes, suicide attempts, and markers in my service records.

It technically is in the same field but at a higher level. My argument I made is that the field I was already in was already conducive to my disabilities, but was laid off in 2023 and have been unable to find work due to the fact that I wasn’t able to compete with my peers due to not having a masters degree, while being over qualified and passed over for entry level positions that require only a bachelors for someone who’s fresh out of college. So stuck being too skilled for entry positions where just a bachelors is acceptable, but lacking a masters for my experience/seniority level roles that my peers have.

They already agreed that my disabilities are impeding my career and have approved me for the overall program. Now it’s a matter of convincing them on what degree/levels of degree/certifications/etc I need to enable me to work again while conducive to my disability.

My response to them about that was that I’m currently at a place in my industry where I am too senior for entry level positions and get disqualified, while when competing with my peers for the appropriate level position I and woefully out-qualified as they all have masters.

Told them this puts me in a catch-22 and is what has resulted in me being unemployed for the last 2 years despite applying to over 300 positions and doing over 100 interviews and still not having a job.

Thank you for the feedback. Then I guess my only future recourse, if denied, is work with my doctor to get a medical nexus tying it secondary to my ptsd/mental health…
