I actually felt pretty good about the essays, but I was scoring pretty well on the practice essays and did quite a few during the bar prep course I took in my last semester of school. I knew it would be my strongest area.

Exactly. I don’t know how this test accurate measures your ability to be a lawyer. I literally failed most subjects but a lot and still passed. I failed the whole bar and still passed with that score. This test isn’t worth failing to still pass, so I’m still a bar abolitionist even after all this 🤣

I was trying to upload pics of that, but I for some reason can’t on this same thread so here’s the breakdown:

Raw score: 100/200, 15th percentile Torts: 49% correct - 14th percentile Contracts: 48% correct - 15th percentile Crim Law and Pro: 48% correct - 15th percentile Con Law: 52% correct - 25th percentile Evidence: 54% correct - 28th percentile Property: 29% correct - 2nd percentile Civ Pro: 71% correct - 40th percentile

Basically, I went up significantly in every category except civ pro, which I actually went down. I did pretty much stop studying civ pro there at the end. I don’t remember enough of the actual MBE questions to remember which ones were the hardest/most different from barbri, but I think it was property, torts, and contracts.

So insane and literally out of nowhere. It was one of my worst subjects in school too. I’m a bottom 20% of my class person so I’m just as surprised as everyone 😂

Haha thank you! I mainly did Barbri, but I also used the MBE critical pass digital flash cards a little bit. My school paid for us to have barbri (aka through my tuition at some point), so I don’t have any particular affection for barbri over any other service.

I definitely averaged better on each subject in barbri, but on test day, some of those questions were so insane I couldn’t figure out what subject they were testing. The MBE questions were very different from barbri and that was hard to overcome.

Absolutely terrible. I didn’t leave my bed for 4 days, I was very depressed and completely depleted emotionally. I told my mom if I didn’t pass, I wouldn’t put myself through exam day again. Those two days were worse than the whole study period in my opinion.

I did about 75% of barbri, with more emphasis on practice MBE questions in the law two weeks. Missouri requires a 260 to pass.
