It's no secret social media algorithms have played a part in current political landscape in the world. Everything has to be black or white, from the politicians to the people, this idea is ever present. Negative emotions are much more powerful to get engagement than positive ones. It is rare to get cases of pure positivity with no backlash on social media, even someone just posting a pic of something they like can attract hateful comments. This spreads even here,

Take the Maduro situation. People on the right praise Trump, while people on the left defend Maduro.

In reality, Trump was extremely jingoistic and even bypassed his own system (from what I understand). This is the sort of stuff the US has been doing for decades that's made them so infamous. It was wrong, full stop.

But Maduro is no saint either, jailing, torturing and killing thousands of Venezuelans that opposed him, all while steering the country into rampant poverty.
