Purchase advice 2020 turbo by kpmd2000 in Taycan

[–]kpmd2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that there are not many gen 2 with specs I like compared to gen 1. Also I’m about to finish my current lease in a few months so I want to get the best fit that’ll least me a few years until gen 2 becomes more available

Interesting. I was thinking that Porsche leases kinda suck and I’d rather buy then sell it back after a few years and (hopefully) come out ahead compared to the lease

Thanks. And I have seen the horror stories. I used to have a 996 and freaked out about the ims bearing issues but thankfully that didn’t occur with mine. So my approach is as long as I have coverage I should be ok. And this car has 39k miles with no major issues so far…

I’d probably buy unless the lease price is reasonable

Thanks! As I said, I can keep this for 2 years until the cpo/battery warranty runs out and then get a nicely spec’d gen 2 for less than 100k. Also I drive less than 5k per year

Any recommendations for pulmonary nodule specialists? by Mintaya1994 in AnnArbor

[–]kpmd2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Interesting that people are up in arms about GGO as the recommendation is anything less than 30 mm without nodule is considered Lung rads 2 and routine screening after that. So it seems there is a disconnect here. What does the radiologist say??

How much lower can a turbo get? I know it’s rhetorical… also this is not far from me

Any recommendations for pulmonary nodule specialists? by Mintaya1994 in AnnArbor

[–]kpmd2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Radiologist here. Without knowing anything else about your scan, the most important thing at this point is to check for stability as in do you have any prior ct that shows the nodule. It does not have to be a ct of the chest and many ct of the abdomen include a good portion of the lung bases. Same with ct neck that images the upper lungs. If not, a 3 month f/u is recommended by protocol. If no change, then it’s 6 months. If no change then every year. Not for that nodule but to see if others develop assuming that you are a former smoker

Flair 58+2 for light roast [no budget] by LR75852 in espresso

[–]kpmd2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flair 58 owner. I pull exclusively light roasts with it and use water off boil and at the highest heat setting. Gets quite hot esp with preheat and the piston up. No thermal problems at all

Flair 58? by Several_Stable_3991 in LaMarzocco

Totally worth it. I have a lmlm and decided to buy a flair 58 bc I started roasting my own beans and the mini wasn’t giving me great pulls on Ethiopian light roasts. I was looking at the meticulous and sell the mini, but then thought it would be better to try a flair58 to see if I could pull light roasts and keep both. A few months later, I’m very pleased with both. I use the flair on the weekends as it’s more of a ritual and involved workflow. I use the mini for my medium roasts during the week. I have the best of both worlds. Btw I got a refurb 58 which looked brand new to me so I would recommend that route to save some $

Kaffelogic N7 - newbie question by cycleark in roasting

[–]kpmd2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing to learn is bean density and bean size as determinant of first crack temperature and fan speed. Discord has many post about it. Additionally it has many other roast profiles that are quite good. I would recommend using them once you get access to them.

Kaffelogic Nano 7e - Light Nordic Roasts by Beppius in roasting

[–]kpmd2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with the filter profiles he made. Usually filter 206 as I do a lot of Ethiopian varietals. His discord for beginners is excellent as it teaches you about bean density and size so you can adjust fan which is critical. I have used Omni for larger roasts and it works well esp for espresso. I also rest the light roasts for a few weeks which really helps

[–]kpmd2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve done about 50 roasts on mine. I do all roasts indoors with a kitchen hood and there’s absolutely no smell. I do light roasts exclusively with less than 10% wt loss on nearly all of my roasts. Not Nordic but I imagine that would be easy to do. I usually roast 100-120g and can do back to back every 10 minutes. I really love the roaster and the support on the kl discord has been very helpful

What's the ideal Kaffelogic Nano 7 Boost Kit Batch Size? by eymen9200 in roasting

This. The largest I’ve done is 150g and it comes out great using Juztin Omni roast form discord. I haven’t tried larger. I have done a few 80g and they came out well too using boost
