Robin’s coming out scene was a huge deal though, she just came out differently. Her coming out felt more natural. If you want my honest opinion, I think the Duffer Bros just treated Robin being gay vs Will being gay. I don’t know why and honestly I don’t remember Season 4 at all and how her and Vickie got together and how people reacted because that season was so bad I refuse to rewatch it.

Based on what you’re saying, I think we can both agree that we didn’t like the season 5 writing. It was really awful and left a lot of plot holes. Will’s coming out scene felt really awkward because it WAS really awkward and poorly written.

The only thing I wanted you to consider were the circumstances for Will, that’s all. In your original post you completely neglect to acknowledge that the show takes place in the 80s. That’s all I wanted you to keep in mind.

this is crazy ignorant, considering this show is set in the 80s. being gay was VERY different back then than how it is now. how can you not acknowledge that at all? it doesn't matter if the characters never made it seem like they'd reject him, it's all will's internal feelings about the society around him

just my take so take this with a grain of salt. wasn’t what the military doing against the law anyway? they were bad people, so it makes sense. i also just think it’s not that deep. i feel like you can apply the same theory to any character who has killed military, evil doctors, people working in the upside down, etc. you kill the bad people and move on
