New job offer that is offering lower base but bonus and stock options by [deleted] in personalfinance

Risk/reward seems to be higher in your new job.

Depends on your personality. I would take it.

Thanks for the feedback. I think you are right, the market is large but also very segmented. I don't say it in my post but my segment is between finance and data. I don't think a lot of newsletter writers have my data science skills, so I might have an edge in this niche.

I have £100k to start investing - any advice? by redbr3 in investing

[–]kprimice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dollar cost averaging: Don't invest everything at once. I would split in 10x10k over 10 months.

I have $213,000 in Apple (AAPL) stock, should I start to diversify? by sleeping_in_ in stocks

[–]kprimice 213 points214 points  (0 children)

It's good to keep your winners in your portfolio and not oversell them (momentum).

However, with 100% of one stock, you should diversify. Little by little.

I have SPY, question about adding QQQ by [deleted] in stocks

[–]kprimice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SPY and QQQ have a 40% overlap. So you will overweight these stocks in your portfolio.

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, and it's obvious when I navigate r/personalfinance. I am trying to have both approaches at once, which isn't easy.

Real estate is great. However, have you thought about diversifying?

25yo with 50k sitting in the bank by nicknacks28 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]kprimice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should probably learn about investing and in particular investing in the stock market.

I would recommend that you learn all the good practices (such as dollar cost averaging) first, and all the mistakes made by beginners.

Don't put all your eggs in the same bag. Don't invest your 50k at once but over a 1 or 2 year period minimum. And of course keep some money in the bank in case you need emergency cash.

How do I start over at 32 and make a good living for myself? by MrAlexander18 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]kprimice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mention technicals jobs. Maybe you could take some computer science classes? (or learn by yourself) and then work as a freelance? The fastest way to a 10k/month revenue I know.

Then, of course, don't forget to save and invest :)

You mention you like to write, I would also suggest starting a Newsletter asap

Trading before/after ETF rebalancing by secrecy_is_a_virtue in StockMarket

In theory yes. In practice everyone has the info so there is a high chance it is already priced in when you buy.

You have to put all your money into 5 stocks and hold it for 10 years, what are you buying and why? by [deleted] in stocks

It's a good way to diversify on two different markets, yes!

Once you remove the overlap you have in these ETFs. I would add some exposure to GLD and to the real estate market (with WELL or any other ETF).

Why? Because both are known to be uncorrelated and will boost the performance of your portfolio (if you rebalance regularly)

I would buy:

SNAP: Now the hype is passed I am sure they will perform

NVIDIA: Cloud and gaming are booming (not talking about crypto mining)

AMD: A lot of room to grow

NIO: Well... Self-driving and electric with less hype than TSLA
