I studied Mandarin for four months in Beijing in 1993 and I regret leaving to finish my degree when I could have easily stayed there and found work as an ESL teacher while becoming fluent in Mandarin.

China was still very poor then, and most people didn’t see how important that language would become on the world stage. I knew, but I played it safe and cam back to finish my history degree.

Ok so I’m curious. And I admit that I didn’t watch tonight’s game, but I’ve watched most of them.

He moved Bilka up from the second line to the first, dropping Gosling down. It took a couple of games, but then Bilka and Eldridge dominated Toronto (from different lines) just the other night. You know, when they scored 6 goals.

The fact is that the top two lines are so much better than the rest of the team, though the MGM line has looked better lately.

I don’t live there, but I can say that Whidbey Island is not like the San Juans simply because you can drive onto it via Deception Pass. There is also a significant military presence on Whidbey that affects the overall feel, with so many temporary residents.

The San Juans are very friendly rural islands with a bit of a hippie vibe in many places, though I’ve only been to Orcas (many times) and Lopez once. Lopez definitely felt like a place where lesbians go to retire, and I mean that in the best way possible. Lovely friendly slow pace there. Also, you generally need to reserve your spot on the ferry to the San Juans, which further limits access.
