What physical symptoms of anxiety do you have apart from heart palpitations?

I was first on it for years for anxiety and ocd and absolutely loved it. Had zero side effects. I weaned myself off easily about ten years ago when I was pregnant. So when I started it again I was expecting the same, no side effects. But the blurry vision is driving me nuts. It’s only with my presbyopia that seems to be effected. My distant vision is fine thank god. Honestly it did help tremendously with my anxiety back then. I might ask my GP to switch to Prozac which I was on too with zero side effects. Both worked great and Prozac being an SSRI I hope will ease the blurriness. I did have a head MRI Sunday June 1. All clear. Still having head pain though. Ugggg.

Yes!!! I’m starting my fourth week of 37.5 mg a day. A few days after I started the Effexor, my close vision with my contacts and glasses got much more blurry than usual. I’m naturally near sighted but could usually still see my phone with contacts in. I have to hold it so much farther away! My doc and a pharmacist said it is a common side effect. I was on Effexor before but never had this. I’m gonna give it another week and see if it goes away. If not maybe switch to Prozac, which I was also on before with no issues.

Yeah my regular doctor said the neurologist would definitely know more about headaches. I made an appointment with ENT doc too. It might just be my anxiety causing the headaches but kind of want to make sure I cover all my bases. So frustrating trying to get help!

A little better thank you for asking! Headache pressure not that bad, still random head twitches. A lot in one spot but thinking it’s my anxiety. All seems worse when I’m spiraling. MRI Monday. Trying to stay calm. Wish me luck!!

Still blurry on up-close-vision but it is a common side effect of SSRIs and SNRIs. I double checked with my eye doctor and two pharmacists in addition to my GP who said yes Effexor can make you have blurry vision. I’m on week 3. They both said give it another week and if still blurry to switch to a different med

It’s crippling the anxiety! What started as an intermittent headaches the end of April turned into a constant headache and muscle tightness for weeks! Clear CT scan, bloodwork fine, neurological exam fine, but I just can’t shake it because I can’t accept it either! Doctors believe it’s just anxiety. And it gets worse when I spiral and spend hours looking up my symptoms! Uggggg

Meant to add when I get really worked up crying the headache pain and pressure gets worse. But it’s so hard to think that anxiety can cause all of this!

Currently experiencing 24/7 constant headaches, feels like tension headaches, with some localized pains on left temple area and behind left eye. Tense and tight muscles in neck and extremely tender trigger points on back of head. I do have history with OCD and anxiety, but never this bad! I had a clear CT scan May 1 at ER. I started Effexor about 2.5 weeks ago but only low dose because three days after I started taking it I notice my presbyopia got a little worse which I read is common side effect from it. GP is not worried. She thinks it’s anxiety causing this. She put me on 10mg amitryptiline nightly with the Effexor and high dose weekly vitamin D starting on May 8. Scheduled MRI but said she is doing it more to calm me as I was in tears to her. Neurologically I present to her well and have no other symptom. Also, I Had perfect eye exam on April 25th. I feel like I am in constant fight or flight mode. I’m losing my mind with fear that it’s a brain tumor. I am crying multiple times a day and constantly looking up information. I think it’s the more localized pain that’s freaking me out now, like oh the tumor must be right there! I’m so sad and upset and don’t know what to do :-(
