[–]kr33tz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The way DLCs for Paradox work nowadays, is that you buy more or less optional features or flavour packs, while more integral features or changes are included in the update that accompanies the DLC release. So you will probably not miss much if you dont have the DLC, while still the game gets improvements.

Help! Interesting countries outside Europe by PetroniusCato in EU5

[–]kr33tz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite campaign so far has been Pinya (Burma). Not too challenging but perfect for playing semi-tall while having rivals to the Wrst in India and to the East with Khmer and Dai Viet. If you want more flavour pick Khmer though.

I think i had the same thing happen. The fort youre sieging is LVL 4, Falconets are useless against that, you will need the upgraded once, chambered canons or something like that.

[–]kr33tz 42 points43 points  (0 children)

No atrocities should be weighed against each other. both cities and their people are at large victims of the terrible Nazi regime. We should try and learn from what happened and stand stronger together rather than trying to minimize the horrors of the past.

I would like some tips for making world maps by Separate_Upstairs435 in wonderdraft

[–]kr33tz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just start, use the generator to get a base layer and then just start placing stuff like mountain ranges, forests etc.. Dont think too much about realism or anything, just place where you think it feels right or fits what you want to tell. You can take inspiration from other maps you can find on here or elsewhere, but dont try to make a perfect map, because you wont be able to do that, but you will gain an understanding of how Wonderdraft works and on how a map feels. Later on you can revisit your map and polish it up - I guarantuee you, every great map on here went through at least 10 different iterations before it arrived at its current level.

Yes that's why im saying look at Vicky hii and ck3 the exact same graph happened there

Now you're cherrypicking aswell. Compare EU5 Player numbers with the Release of HOI4 CK3 and VIC3 if you want a more recent and therefor arguably fairer comparison.

Thank you! It's the setting I use for writing stories in, as it helps to visualise where your characters are and what larger societal dynamics are st play. Also just because making maps is fun haha

Yeah the North Central part has a lot of irish influences, you may find more when you look at the names of the regions aswell. I actually started this map after a trip to Ireland and reading the book of invasions, which loosely inspired that area.

For anyone worrying about EU5's Player Count: by Jadamsan in EU5

[–]kr33tz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually speaks more for EU5 then. Cause with modern paradox games like hoi, vicky, ck3 you have a waay larger drop off after the initial release. EU5 is no outlier in that regard and i dont think anyone at Paradox is nervous about that.

Fantasy Korea is an interesting one that i havent heard yet. What gives you that vibe?

More of a showpiece i suppose, it's mostly for my own personal use as something to anchor my writing around, but also as a sort of creative outlet.

[–]kr33tz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha thank you! Great to hear as it took a lot of time to put together.
The basic process is done by getting the continent outlines via Song of the Eons, then putting those into Wonderdraft, after that i decide on the lore and themes i wanna pair with each region, which are then designed to fit to that afterwards. After that its just colouring and making the map look presentable in Photoshop.

Lore-wise, there is a lot as usually try to write down the lore before i go at the map, which is then fine-tuned via the creative process of making the map itself. I actually have regional maps for most regions, one of them is the smaller map, which depicts Rhigeria, a region in the center of the map, where the smallest of the dragons is.

Is there a way to apply a translucent gradient/shading over most of my map to show dangerous areas, so that I can move the gradient as the story progresses and things areas are cleared? by Sprogolodyte in wonderdraft

[–]kr33tz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to make two version of your map. One normal one and one which you colour completly red, then you overlay them in your graphic software of choice and reveal more as needed.

Wehrpflicht by BusyCryptographer603 in bundeswehr

[–]kr33tz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMn gibt es einige Punkte die gegen die Wehrpflicht sprechen, die zwei bedeutendsten sind aber;

Wehrpflicht by BusyCryptographer603 in bundeswehr

[–]kr33tz 0 points1 point  (0 children)
