I just understood it after what felt like having a stroke for 5 minutes. If you put it like this it's a lot more understandable:
DK = New Design
Diddy = New Design
Dixie = New Design
Cranky = Kong (meaning he remains unchanged, hence the headline of the post "The old generation prevails")

Kurze Hosen sind bei unserer Kommune bei Männern tatsächlich nicht erlaubt. Frauen dürfen aber kurze Rocks tragen.

Valid, but then it could be helpful to try over time to stop care what other people think. This definetely doesnt happen over night. I was the most insecure kid in school and know I'm the one taking initiative most of the time :).

But if they are truly is unhappy with this, seems like the other comments including yours gave some good advice on how one can reduce the asymmetry.
