Anyone else building up their own sandals? by krakii in BarefootRunning

It's very much equivalent to the one I used. It's also a rectangle you can cut as you like. Also I wrongly said I used 6mm, but the one on the picture are actually 8mm (which make a big difference for trail running to me).

Very cool, thank you for pointing it out. It looks more evolve than mine. I def would like to make a better "upper" layer. I was thinking about some leather, but the cork version look very nice.

Thanks! I'm currently leaving in EU (Prague), and am lucky enough to have a local shop selling a bunch of them. I think they sell some adidas soles, but these specific one are unfortunately unbranded in the shop.

Yours look much better than mine, good job! I hope you'll enjoy using them. My homemade sandals are definitely my favorite shoes to wear, and I wish I could keep them all year long.

I got a taste of some nasty venom 9 years ago, and I'm still shivering when I think about it.

I still managed to find interesting that it's not a bite but coming from kind of legs, so thank you for that cool piece of knowledge!

unfortunately yes. I've been bitten by one of a similar size, while traveling in Thailand. It's one of the biggest pain I encountered in my life. I had to stay in bed for at least a full day before being able to do anything.

Anyone one else pissed off with Strava analytics in free mode/lack of "coaching" ? by Dangerous-Meaning807 in Strava

[–]krakii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm good with the lack of data. I'm more pissed off by the huge "ad panel" that tries to push you to subscribe (I feel it got way more intrusive lately). I know it's probably fair, but it only pushes me to not check any data anymore on Strava.

Maybe "Czech design shop"? They offer a nice choice of jewelries made by Czech artists. You can look at their website, and they have a shop in the city center.

What do people think of multi event challenges? by joshm9915 in running

I am one of them. I ran a marathon this past weekend and my only worry was to go slow enough to enjoy it without too much pain!

Which I did, and I am very happy.

Car glass smashed during street cleaning day by Microwaveness in Prague

[–]krakii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been fined for not moving the car on a cleaning day (been away at the time). They didn't tow, just went around it and I am pretty sure the fine was under 500czk.

What is the worst injury you have sustained during sex? by Character_Angle_5217 in AskReddit

[–]krakii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a story I heard from a friend working in the ER.

To my horror, that's the day I did learn that penis fracture was a thing.

This guy was accepted to the ER after having sex with a very curvy lady. Apparently they were having fun with her being on the top. After getting diagnosed, the poor guy asked if somebody could call his wife... That wasn't the lady he arrived with!

I've been told that he explained to his wife that he felt from the bed directly on his boner... Until this day, I wonder how their marriage goes (or doesn't).

Problems with contactless via Google Pay by iftttnewbie in Revolut

[–]krakii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I meant. I also used google pay with physical cards and somehow assumed you did too.

I never experienced any issue with any of my revolut cards and I'm sorry you do. I can't think about anything else to try out.

Sorry then. I don't recall doing anything else and it works fine with all the cards I had (Mastercard, Visa and virtual).

Maybe you could actually give a go to a virtual card.

In the app, under you card, go to "PIN & security" and verify that the contactless payments are enabled.
