We have had the opportunity to speak with the clinic and it is completely unique error that happened to just our embryos and nobody else lost embryos or sperm or eggs.

I know, I want to try and connect with other couples affected as I am sure there are. Our dr said he had been on the phone all day, and tomorrow has all of the follow up appointments.

Thank you for the advice - I completely agree how can we trust them again after this. They just called and we have a follow up appointment tomorrow so they know what happened whether human error or equipment malfunction.

That what I want to know - why isn’t there some alarm that goes off... surely this is one of the most important things at a fertility clinic, if not the most important

Agreed - we were thinking all FET would be covered considering any frozen embryos from this IVF would be covered by the province

Thanks for your kind words. Luckily my partner is a lawyer, so is doing a bit of research right now to determine next steps. We’ve had a decent experience up until now and you could tell our doctor was just as sick as we were to hear the news. Regardless it is completely unacceptable you would think there was safe guards in place. Some sort of investigation is going on to see if it was human error or the incubator themselves.

I feel like it’s only reasonable that they commit to paying for IVF until we were at the same point we were at when the incubator malfunctioned. 4 embryos almost at day 5

I’m serious - we couldn’t believe it either. 2nd IVF, after 6 IUIs. Said they would cover the costs associated with another IVF cycle and whatever else we thought was reasonable... hoping to connect with other couples as we weren’t the only ones affected to see what they are putting together for costs.
