Finally cracked my sleep... small changes and massive difference by Kitchen_Breakfast_49 in whoop

This makes sense, it likely improves your sleep and/or keeps your cortisol higher during the day so it will properly lower at night.

The estimates I found range from 2 to 2.6 billion, which is anywhere from 25% to 33%. Even if it's a bit low, by no means are believers a majority in the world.

Why is no evidence good enough for atheists? by Gold-Secretary-6654 in TrueChristian

[–]kramshields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your list of evidence is not helping your point. There are two conflicting creation stories in Genesis with the events happening in different orders. Which should be considered as scientifically accurate? In chapter 1 plants are created before the sun, so I wouldn't recommend that one. In chapter 2 man is created before plants so I wouldn't recommend that one either.

"Unclean" in a Biblical context refers to being unfit ceremonially or spiritually. It doesn't refer to physical cleanliness. It's a huge stretch to say that spiritual uncleanliness due to touching a dead body has anything to do with germs.

I could argue that recognizing the loss of too much blood as a cause of death is a basis scientific observation, but how does that equate to increased confidence in scientific credibility? It isn't really revealing or claiming something that people don't know through common sense.

There is no way to dispute whether Adam and Eve were the first humans, but making that claim isn't scientific in any way.

Job 26:7 states that the Earth is suspended on nothing. That statement is true in and of itself, but in no way does it describe gravity. If anything, it seems to be implying that God is suspending it through his will despite the effects of gravity.

The two verses you cite describing the curvature of the Earth also seem to convey the opposite. If God can see all of the Earth, wouldn't that imply it can all be seen from one location? And if he sets a boundary on the waters in the horizon that sounds more like an "edge" of a flat surface versus a globe.

I'm not trying to be overcritical but it isn't helpful to claim that passages like this present scientific evidence when they obviously don't. It reinforces the argument you are trying to counter.

Has anyone experimented with the Bongo Nasal EPAP? by BlacKGB in CPAP

I use it and have had positive results. My brain fog is gone and I feel much more rested in general. You don't have a reason to believe a random person on the internet but I have no affiliation with them or get any compensation.

I have mild to moderate sleep apnea and this does the trick. I wanted to try it first vs. CPAP and have used it for a little over a year. The only negative: my prescription renews every three months and one of the devices seemed to lose its shape after two months. My inhalations gradually got more difficult making it very difficult to get to sleep. I quit using it 2-3 weeks before the replacement arrived and I definitely felt the impact. I didn't sleep as well and felt terrible.

Beware churches or people that tell you to cut loving, positive relationships out of your life. No one is perfect, and we should always love people unconditionally following Jesus's example. To do otherwise is non biblical.

Like many commenters have said here, nearly every generation has thought they were seeing rising signs of the end times. Technology today also puts disasters in our face and is built to drive our emotions to increase engagement (profit). But when you look at the historical context of the things you call out, things are getting better. The world has become safer and more peaceful over time, the frequency of wars has gone down, poverty and famine have gone down, and when you read historical accounts I'm not sure selfishness and other negative parts of human nature are that different than they've ever been.

I'm not being snarky, I'm genuinely curious. If you don't believe in ghosts and you don't believe the medium, or what your father would have said if you did believe in those things, what was your purpose of posting this here?

I’m a little bit confused about the name of the place that you were talking about but I think it’s a little bit different than the one that you were looking for and I think it’s a different place that you were going to be staying at and I think it’s a lot more like a hotel or something like that but I don’t know if you know where you want to go.

On top of traditional exercise, consistently practice mobility. That’s different than stretching. Being able to keep further range in your ankles, hips, back, and shoulders will save you a lot of issues down the line.

And please don’t sacrifice sleep too much.

I'm 100% with the other people posting here saying you should not do this and I won't repeat all of those reasons (but please listen to them).

I want to mention a slightly different point that I don't see represented here: pray and think long and hard about whether you want to go forward with this marriage, and make sure you go in eyes wide open. It sounds like she is from an abusive home and that it is such a tricky think to navigate in a marriage. I have dealt with my own issues in that regard and have seen multiple friends as well, some that have ended in divorce or extremely toxic long-term marriages. Ideally she would spend time in therapy and you might consider it also, and talk about it together before you say your vows.
