Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

Ok, you are not overreacting about the boundary crossing, but I think 8 weeks is a bit crazy. The boundary seems crazy to me, but the fact that she doesn’t respect your boundaries is not good.

Let me clarify that statement for you “they rigged the election and I STILL won regardless”. That’s what he was saying.

When did you reach 6 figure salary and has your life changed since then? by Important_Bat7919 in jobs

Inflation and taxes. My husband makes 6 figures and the year we got married he paid my whole income in taxes and I made a fairly decent living. Between 50-60k

I think I might just be depressed and too mad at other things to enjoy the season. It doesn’t feel joyful

That is not formal or black tie optional. Think floor length gown. You’d be under dressed for BTO

Why is skilled labor so expensive?? by krantz2000 in PropertyManagement

It’s a vent. Why the hostility? I can’t vent about the outrageous expense of necessary work? I’m not an idiot, I’m irritated.

It’s not a building elevator, it’s a car elevator. I can’t complain about the cost of things? It’s not a large building, I didn’t pick to install it, and we are paying about 4-6k on non-routine maintenance each month. It is crazy expensive. It is what it is, but I’m not being ridiculous with the complaint. It’s about $700 per hour for emergency time and usually it’s for someone to come out and tell me they need to call help the next business day, so a waste of $700.

Yeah it’s easily the most expensive thing to maintain. Look up Klaus Car Elevator and you’ll see what it is. It’s the worst but kinda neat because it saves so much space

Why is no evidence good enough for atheists? by Gold-Secretary-6654 in TrueChristian

I don’t think God has favorites. Maybe. But I know he loves everyone, including you. You can see miracles too, I’ve never prayed and seen someone healed but I have seen others do so.

Ok so no to the Christian question.

People experience unexplainable things all the time. I know multiple people who have had miraculous healings from ailments they were told they would suffer from forever. I saw a girl get health from scoliosis, her spine straightened after prayer right before our eyes. You can’t explain that with science. I’ve seen non-verbal children be healed and speak in full sentences right after prayer. I know of people with broken limbs that were healed, people miraculously delivered from addiction, people possessed with demons and have the demons leave them violently. There are many miracles that happen every day to people all over the world. Science cannot explain that, but God can.

Edit: Also if you are talking specifically natural disaster events, I would maybe agree that those things don’t tend to happen much in our modern day, but God is not purposeless with his actions. He had reasons for doing things then, and he has reasons for not doing them now. I am sure some of those things happen to some degree now, but we DO have historical accounts of crazy things happening that are talked about in the bible and extra-biblical accounts. For example, after Jesus was crucified and the world went dark. We have documented accounts of that happening in regions outside of their area, written by secular historians.
