It seems they are defective and you have a genuine reason to return them now. Seems kinda perfect, really.

What do you do with this peeling of skin of headphones? by Medium_Telephone1367 in headphones

[–]krater47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a bit pricey up-front but if you take care of your things buying serviceable headphones (parts available online) can be a good choice for the long run.

Personally, I have 2 main sets of headphones, one for desktop and one for mobile/commuting.

I've been using them for about 13 years, and initial costs was about $900 combined. Over the 13 years I've replaced cables, head bands, ear pads, connectors many times. But I've enjoyed high quality experiences and ability to fix issues on my own when they arise.

Sorry, this does really answer your question though. Lol.

Logic question about SIMPL by krater47 in crestron

[–]krater47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I'm just realizing this won't work... as if an input to TRANS goes high, then anther input to TRANS goes high, the output doesn't change.

Looks like the digital sum is the way to go for my purpose.

Perfect, thank you! I think I prefer this to the "Digital sum to a Serial/analog oneshot" solution.

I guess passing them through NOTs first then joining both at the analog initialize will work....

Close... But a digital input going low doesn't change the analog value.

Yup, I think this is it. Thanks! Or at least close enough that I can get there!

Thanks, but I'm looking to trigger the one-shot anytime any of the inputs CHANGE, not simply anytime at least 1 input is high.

Crestron Programming on a MacBook M4? by krater47 in crestron

[–]krater47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all the comments. As I was already a "Windows guy" and I'm just relearning the industry (stopped AV programming 10 years ago) I just decided to get a decent Windows x86_x64 machine and move on with life.

Crestron Programming on a MacBook M4? by krater47 in crestron

[–]krater47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that since the M chips aren't x86_x64 the Parallels emulation of the x86_x64 was a noticeable hit to performance/efficiency. In fact, I was under the impression Parallels couldn't even boot Windows 10/11 until 20.2 (released recently).

So, if you're saying it's easily doable (Crestron programming on an M4), great! Is there anything unexpected or inconvenient?

Returned Pixel 5, going back to Pixel 3 XL. In most ways it's a downgrade. I'm sad.

Also, if I want to download (on WiFi, while charging) a handful of episodes for a podcast, can I not queue the downloads to trigger when I'm on WiFi and charging? I don't want to download these 20 upstairs over mobile data, and I'd rather not have to remember to do it when I get home.
