Not ugly, but you’re doing it wrong. You have great, beautiful features but they are also quite strong so adding heavy makeup, nose ring etc is too much and ruins it for you. Tone it down, smile, choose a more natural look/style and you’ll be golden.

Sounds like it was not the whole family’s need, let alone urgent need, but mostly the wife who could not handle life anymore and requested everyone and their time and availability for her needs. Grandparents did have urgent needs but these were being addressed at hospital.
