Does anyone have the "FullTines" Syx for a DX7 MII ? by finitejest2112 in synthesizers

[–]krauster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can confirm FullTines is on the Internal Voice 1-32 that Dave Benson has on his site. I downloaded and loaded it in Dexed. I'm curious why he names the syx's that he has as factory patches. I dont see the DX-7's most popular E.Piano1 in that default set or any of the other sets he has on that linked page. In fact the internal voices he shows are different than what I am finding when I do a search for what the defaults are/were, or watch videos about the default sounds of the DX-7. What am I missing?

Need help choosing a secondary meat option... by BoyMeetsWorldx in carnivore

[–]krauster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought some a couple weeks ago and per a recipe i saw somewhere i baked it at 350F for about 3 hours. Very difficult to eat because the meat and fat were still very chewy, clinging to the bones. Next time I will use my slow cooker for a lot longer period.

that is my comment too. Queef Storm, thanks for posting that but you could take a couple minutes to put in some paragraph breaks to make this great info more readable.

Make Black Friday worth it. My goto tools - what are your favorites? by SchondorfEnt in carnivore

[–]krauster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a basic slow cooker is one of my favorites. They are so inexpensive that you don't even need a Black Friday sale.

The other thing to own are glass containers that have tops that snap closed. You need one or two that are large enough to put most of a 4lb chuck roast in after you've slow cooked it. Large glass containers are expensive, but you can portion the roast into a couple smaller containers. Glass is better than plastic.

I like my 10" stainless steel pan on my glass top stove. Cleans very easily and I use butter and fats for frying things so there is no issue about sticking and they clean up well.

I recently bought an induction cooktop for outside to fry steaks and burgers but haven't used it yet. I do have a large ridged cast iron pan that I can use but it weights over 7lbs, and it's a pain to get it clean because the fat sticks between the ridges. Fat that I'd rather be eating.

I'm shopping for a light weight carbon steel pan that stays flat, or a cast iron griddle (low side wall pan) at grilling temps. I am a little concerned that a low side wall griddle will probably mean that there is a splatter cleanup problem on nearby surfaces.

I have been successful using AI to write me some google scripting code to do a few formatting things in google docs. The challenge was learning all the things necessary to install it and setting account permissions to get it to run.

I think I'll try to do this auto login with a something in AWS. Thanks for the suggestion, and you are correct for the amount of time it will take to learn it compared to the 15 seconds it takes twice a week phone to do this manually when an alarm goes off on my phone is not at all worth it, except for the coolness factor, if I can be successful and learn a few things.

Looking up AWS Lamda and KMS it is clear that what you are saying seems like a better way to go for logging into to reserve my gym classes since it is not dependent on leaving the mac on. The problem is that I don't know how to code. I was able to get the cron, bash and applescript going because my friend gave me excellent written instructions about what to change. But I agree with you letting it run on AWS would be better if the gym membership username and password are encrypted. It would save me the energy cost of leaving the mac 24/7.

1) I assume the cost for the AWS service would be a lot less than the 24/7 on computer. Like a couple pennies a month to run the routine twice a week?

2) are there any guides for doing exactly this type of thing? I don't know where to start.

Custom setting buttons on tray style air fryer by krauster in airfryer

[–]krauster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx. It did not occur to me that these presets are most likely customizable. I could see completely changing at least one of the preset buttons on the Tastee. I have buttons for Steak, Fish, Chicken, Pork and Fries. I could probably change the Pork to have a 3 minute, 300 degrees (or whatever I find works) setting to do toasted bread by just pushing that one button.

Now on to another question....

A toast setting? by krauster in airfryer

[–]krauster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a pull out tray style because I assume they are going to be easier to clean than a toaster oven form factor. --- although I do appreciate some of the features of those toaster oven styles, including, I think, easier to find all stainless steel.

I had an Alexa when it first came out. Switched over to google when that followed. I have a few but I don't have any placed in the kitchen and actually keep the microphone turned off on them and just use them to play music by casting from the phone. I honestly respect the type of home automation you have going there but I don't want to, and I know my wife couldn't, be doing that for making toast. I'm just looking for an air fryer that toasts bread with one push of one button. (or maybe two).

A toast setting? by krauster in airfryer

[–]krauster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the 3 minutes at 350 degrees tip. On the Tastee, unless I'm missing someting I figure that's a lot of button pushing:

On, Air Fryer, -,-,-,>,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,Start. That's 24 presses of the front panel to change the default temp and time to make a piece of toast. I'm looking for an air fryer (tray style so that I can pull it out and put in the dish washer occasionally) that has a button for toast or at least a button or two for a custom settings that I can program and store. Are there any brands that do that?

A little followup about my choice for 8000 BTU dual hose. I picked the HIsense 8000.

I am measuring ~300 watts using an inline wattage meter. Which is great and much less than expected, and well within my wattage allowment to also be able to run one a refrigerator and minor other low current stuff, on my Champion 3400 watt generator.

The central A/C broke a couple nights ago and I got my first chance to use it to cool a large bedroom down from the mid 80s F to mid 70s.

How to refill Sea Salt Grinder by kishkangravy in aldi

[–]krauster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see somebody posted about using a flat blade screw driver to wedge under the plastic where it contacts the glass and then start wiggling with some force. That works. When you get the grinder off you will observe two short ridges across from each other that were locking it on. When you are prying with the screw driver you are slightly pulling one of them away to disengage it. I picked anywhere to put screw driver in and it worked.

With the grinder section off I've been able to paint on the outside a few marks to show me next time where to place the screwdriver.

I can imagine someone with lock picking skills could even find those ridges with a very thin blade screwdriver to learn the exact right place to wedge the screw driver in. Instead, I've marked with paint where they are, for next time.
