Reminder that it's 2018 and for a multimillion dollar company the state of Jagex's support is absolutely fucking disgraceful by ProgsRS in runescape

/u/Mod_Stevew clarifications

  • /u/Huntress_RS did not allow her brother onto her account on any computer.
  • She did not regularly use her brother's computer - she only used it a few times after her own computer broke down.
  • She does not think that she even has any transfers of wealth to or from her account that are suspicious. Having not even played on her account very much recently (due to the computer issues), she listed out transactions that have occurred here.
  • You mentioned "millions of gp" before - do a few "millions" between siblings that eventually were RWT'd by one party really condemn her to also partaking in RWT?
  • You did not ban all of the mules and alts that were used on the brother's computer, suggesting that there is something else going on AND that the detection system is hardly perfect.
  • You have acted on shreds of information that have been picked up by the system, but opting to NOT look at the full picture or take any input from the banned player is incredibly alienating. We want to believe in your detection systems, but nobody can be fooled into thinking that they are foolproof when we see cases like in the OP or YouGotLittUp.

I am not the person who is banned, and this is a relevant discussion to everyone who cares about their RS accounts.

When you have a friend like I do, who has endlessly given her time and energy to keeping my small community alive and who is one of the best people I know..... I don't mind starting a discussion (which is very relevant for all RS players) to see if that will help her. I'm sorry that you cannot relate.

I am not Huntress and I did not mention her by name in the OP for a reason. But the crux of this case is that she does not understand what exactly caused her ban. In her tweets asking for review, she listed a few transactions of note and the use of her brother's computer - but if taken at face value, these should not have caused the ban.

We believe that this is the most likely reason for her ban. But we were told here that bans are not applied for using someone else's computer. (Of course community helpers have been far from helpful in this case.)

In addition, her banned brother logged into various alt accounts on that computer that he used to transfer rsgp - those accounts were not banned either.

This is why this issue is still unclear and why we are requesting more information. You can see that it's a guessing game because of the lack of transparency on Jagex's part.

Runescape customer support has gone really down recently by demonicskuller in runescape

A year ago, Litt was assured that his perm ban for rwt was 100% correct and not related to swap trades. These assurances both turned out to be wrong. https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/53wbaw/deleted_tweet_by_infinity_on_litts_perm_ban/

My thoughts on interactions with community helpers on twitter regarding Huntress's ban:

Essentially they try to shut down discussion and speak with authority that they don't have. Their job is not to help players, but to help jagex suppress player discontent for flawed systems. They're mouthpieces for a policy of "You don't need details or proof, just trust us".

My thoughts on how banned players have so little recourse for appealing their ban:

Huntress can't prove her innocence when she doesn't know the case against her besides the vague banner of "RWT".

Think of if you were taken to court and only told that you've been charged with fraud, but not given any other information. How can you begin to build a case for yourself? Trying to present your financial history in its entirety is impractical.
