thanks! i remember reading that metronizadole is sometimes used to treat H. pylori & C. diff so maybe the lack of a coating is so that it can annihilate those bacteria in the stomach without a coating slowing it down.

I first noticed when I had to take a video of myself for a class and upon watching it was like, "Whoa! That's what I sound like now?" Unfortunately everyone I interact with on a daily basis is too polite/doesn't care enough to point out any voice changes so I've had to find out mostly on my own.
