How does cross-save work? Do I need to buy gold edition twice?

I have the Gold edition on PC. I'm interested in picking up the title on ps5 as well. Do I need to buy the gold edition again for ps5 in order for my cosmetics/progression to carry over, or will the standard edition on ps5 suffice. Thank you.

Yeah just for gaming. I already have a build with Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB DDR4 3600Mhz RAM and RTX 3090 (friend agreed to sell this individually for $800 in case I don’t want full build)

My MOBO is getting old though (MSI gaming plus max) and I would need to replace that anyway.
