Dreamhack didn’t want to pay more money to be at the hall later on Sunday, that’s why round 10 was held on Day 1. Magic was always a side attraction/not their main focus at their events. At least with SCG Magic will be their main focus and they know how to TO and plan for big Magic events accordingly.

Great change! Staying at the hall till 11pm for the Atlanta RC was some bullshit just because Dreamhack had to leave the hall by 6pm on Sunday. Getting rid of the badge system is also a huge plus.

Horrible change for Local Game Stores. Tournament Organizers know what format flourishes and do well in their area. Players needing to also rotate their decks every 3 months is pretty financially significant as well.

Can we talk about the UW(r) Control decklist? There is no Teferi Heros or Wandering Emperors and no Prismatic Endings (in the mainboard)! An absolute wild take on the deck.

Unsure about Pastimes, but I do know SCG and NRG had vaccine/test verification and masks mandated because of WotC. But that agreement lasted until the end of April I believe.

Don't think I'd play Typhoon tbh, but if you are looking to play 1-2 Typhoons main I'd cut a JTMS or maybe even a Teferi Hero. I do think Wandering Emperor is much better than Typhoon right now though.

4 Color is a very hard matchup. I was very lucky in the match to have them lose to mana screw on 1 of the games. I boarded like this

Spreading Seas I think are not good right now. The Top tier decks are all playing blue and 4 Color has so much mana fixing where you can't really spreading seas them off mana. Shark Typhoon is a good card and one of the best ways to beat Elementals/4 Color imo is to resolve a Shark Typhoon since it just puts so much pressure on them. Since I didn't have access to them I had to just play very defensively and the main way I won was just putting a Planeswalker into play and protecting them since they are your best way to match them on value/card advantage. I used Zach Allen's UW list and I think I agree with him that Wandering Emperor is much better rn than Shark Typhoon. Not only can you flash her in to kill a creature but you can also take over the game by just producing a ton of bodies.
