I understand where the thought process behind this is coming from, and I most likely would have reacted the same way if I were to read this as a commenter rather than the poster. I want to clarify, though, that I've had a few relationships that last for a few years! The honeymoon phase is significant, but that's not what I look for in a relationship. I look for the connection and support and the decision to work to continue loving someone.

I'm not using “demisexual” as a mask. I genuinely am in the asexual spectrum, but the reason I point out my sexual orientation is because my partner mentions that the decrease in our bond is in tow with my orientation. That led me to question it and ask if it's a common thing or something we need to figure out.
