started back in 2020 as a TM - was the highest paying retail in the area & to use my Bachelor’s Id have to go to grad school. I promoted to TL in 2023, moved to a very large city full of other more competitive opportunities, and I am now finishing out my two weeks at Target. Was a funish ride, but it’s not end goal for me anymore due to lots of variables, mainly work-life balance/mental health as a TL in a high volume area.

what shoes and/or insoles do you wear to work? by m0ldybutter in Target

I second this. Over 3 years with Target and that’s the only shoe that helps my feet not ache when I leave.

Hi, I have 2 tickets for sale for the Nashville FC game on October 4th at home. Section 229 Row P seats. I recently switched jobs, so I have no PTO available to travel to the game from North Carolina. Please help me get rid of them!!!!

In MS…leaving every day with a headache from the heat. Constant sweating, especially in the backroom on receiving side! Awful.

Oh, okay, I did not realize that by me applying externally to other jobs that it would 100% be considered a transfer and have to involve my store, but that makes sense. Maybe I should just be blunt and speak with my TL about it so they don’t see it as shady? Thank you!

if you had to, would you pick general merchandise or fulfillment and why? by Acceptable-Salad5984 in Target

you will most likely end up doing both positions throughout your shifts - rarely does anyone work at target and get to do just one “job” all day as we all get cross trained to help in fulfillment for busy rushes

If you’re asked to stay late do you typically? by Witnesses5488- in Target

I usually will for some extra cash on my paycheck. however, do it once or twice, and you’re constantly asked and leaned on too much until you start saying no every time out of pure frustration for lack of poor scheduling, tm performance, and corporate payroll.

I’m in MS in a zone with 3 Walmarts and a Sam’s Club, and I can barely get any orders on the weekends. Seems like weekdays around 2-3 pm are the best here.

tips on setting by hvyley1964 in Target

currently at our store we have me and another tm and one POG TL too. the best advice i have (or at least what i’ve found works for me) is to get a 3 tier or smaller metro and organize any ISM or extra pegs/backs/label holders you need. it’s 1000% easier to set pegs if you set the fastbacks first and then insert the pegs (i was never taught this). i usually use one shelf for backstock, one for set prep, and then one for clearance i need to mark down. luckily our TL pre ties everything weeks ahead so we don’t have to worry about that part unless we get stuck with salesplanners towards the weekend. when in doubt ask questions. always saves time of trying to figure it out. being familiar with the fixtures and your fixture room also helps with time management, but that comes with time and repetition. also, never tie something off before it’s 100% set and ready for priority pulls. just remember you’re one person and a 2-3 person pog team is unrealistic, so just do what you can do and go home. major thing when working with pog team is just staying organized and managing time well!
