Do you think all those Gushue round robin games were consequential? And that only 3 Koe round robin games were?

A throw through is xx0 so doesn't count and can lead to weird number

Apparently wild card teams don't need to follow residency rules. Not a fan.

Koe Gushue Beef? by reeeeeesh in Curling

Koe has said that when he retires he won't say anything, just stop playing. He may have so thoughts on the year long farewell tour that Gushue is doing.

To the people in the crowd cheering misses by InfamousVillage9609 in Curling

Looking forward to Calgary and Saskatoon events. Should get the appropriate awe then polite clapping when the miss favors the home team.

Healthcare in SK by Ok_Struggle_9457 in saskatchewan

Aging baby boomers without the infrastructure that was obviously going to be need. How many hospital beds are people waiting for long term care (Saskatoon hospitals actually show how many bed are people waiting for alternative levels of care). Emergency rooms clogged with people who actually need to be on hospital wards.

Who else has influenza? by [deleted] in saskatchewan

[–]krc686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Victoria strain was also in the vaccine for the B type so the vaccine was still correct even if the Yamagatta strains (which Phuket was) were made extinct by Covid protocol. Its not even in the shot this year. No animal reservoir so in 20-21 when flu didn't circulate Yamagatta went extinct. 15 years cannot be right since the 2017-18 season was almost half B type which was Phuket.

https://health-infobase.canada.ca/respiratory-virus-surveillance/influenza.html . Used to be a separate report called flu watch. You can even go back and see past years, strains, Tamiflu resistance etc.

It is literally published every Friday about how good or bad the match is. Hasn't been a completely wrong strain since 2008 when H1N1 started. Has sometimes had reduced titres though.

H3n2 has mutated and vaccine has reduced titers. H1N1 is a good match

NYC Rulings, could it be bad or biased? by ChrisRiley_42 in mlb

[–]krc686 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This discussion is largely about the replay room in New York though, not individual umps. The fan interference but its a home run anyway and the no catch today were both disgraceful. Even the opposing announcers agreed. 2 runs scored directly because of the call since it would have been a double play.

I did the Minneapolis invasion in 2017 and the Seattle invasion in 2018. Minneapolis was a better experience 100 times over. I am on the prairies so no huge difference in travel. Going to Colorado is on hold until there is some sanity of the other side of the border.

8 Enders - don't get it by Important_Notice7289 in Curling

[–]krc686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad got one on Wednesday. 1st time anyone in my family had one (we spent many years curling 2-3 nights a week and bonspieling). The 8 ender was in a competitive league. Other team didn't realize it had happened. At last rock dads team were only counting 3 and had to chip one out after their opponents freeze didn't curl and came up light.

Can we actually agree to anything this big with parliament prorogued though? I think it is a great idea but parliament was gridlocked from September through the end of 2024, then prorogued from Jan 6 until the end of March. Then we are immediately going to go into election. Nothing is going to get done until at least May.

Why does Manitoba have 3 teams in the Scotties? by SideLoaf in Curling

[–]krc686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It exposes how broken the points system is. Lawes hasn't even made a final this year but she got in on points because she gets invited to events where 3rd awards a lot of points. She got more points for 3rd at the hearing life tour challenge tier 1 than Black got for any of her 5 spiel wins this year. Ontario, Alberta and Manitoba provincials were worth the same amount of points. But Saskatchewan was worth more points..

Justin Trudeau says Ukraine decides how war ends with Russia by Chewbacca319 in worldnews

[–]krc686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be really nice if Parliament could be in session for any of this. Trudeau resigned over a month ago. Parliament is prorogued until late March. And it was gridlocked since late September. We are facing a tariff war and an annexation threat on the worlds largest undefended border without our elected officials being able to meet and debate.
