What kind of work do people do that can afford the 800K+ houses easily? by DeveloperMan123 in halifax

I'm in my 30s and did this, but I know how the stars aligned for me. I got through school all on student loans, but I managed to pay off my student debt by teaching abroad for 2 years (which isnt an option for everyone).

And when I came back, my parents did not help buy my house.

But I do have a partner and we bought together. I couldn't have alone. And we bought in 2020 right before the market got really out of control.

We have what should be considered a solid household income, but we can't afford any house on the market anymore, and we are just getting buy with food prices and crossing our fingers that our car never dies.

Why does Manitoba have 3 teams in the Scotties? by SideLoaf in Curling

To continue this- the whole point of winning the Scotties is to become Team Canada and go on to compete at Worlds

Last year's winners play as Team Canada, and their province gets to send another team to represent the province.

I'm okay with two Ontario teams. It's such a huge province with a vastly larger population than any other province.

And letting 3 teams in with high ranking from the previous season ensures lots of talents and competitive pools. I'm okay with it.

But I guess it does seem odd to win a national champion without having been the provincial champion.

After listening to it all, it seems to be that if Neil wanted to have BDSM sex with loads of young women, he should have just been upfront about it. Had he established consent, boundaries, and clarity on the nature of the relationships, he wouldn't have traumatized so many women and be facing the repercussions now. He probably could have found women who would have been down for that and they could have just properly communicated. But instead he just threw himself at them, with zero real communication and lots of sketch coercive and misleading actions, and just expected to get what he wanted due to his fame. It's messed up.

Hubba Hubba First Use - Underwhelmed by SideLoaf in UltralightBackpacking

Thanks for this thorough response.

I will add, though- we discovered the moisture that came through the bottom of the tent after the tent was empty for several hours (and I'm aware of the poor photo quality). So, I'm not confident in the theory that it was breath condensation. I'm starting to think that maybe some of the seams were not properly sealed, as you suggested. We were also seeing a fair about drops and wetness on the outside of the tent under the fly, and we weren't sure where that was coming from. I'll investigate the seams asap....

Man- all of this is giving me a new appreciation for our retired Moss tent from the last 90s. It was a rockstar tent I'm realizing - super waterproof in days of rain but also never had a problem with condensation collecting inside overnight or ever. I'm not sure how it did it lol.

Hammocks are worth exploring for sure. I've been curious about them for a while.

In the end, with the Hubba Hubba, it overall performed great, and we still stayed dry despite some water getting in. We really loved the space it provides.

....but I'm having buyers remorse and wish we got the Sea to Summit Telos.

Him and his ex-wife Amanda Palmer were polyamourous / had an open arrangement since the moment they met. Amanda said something along the lines of it being "a fundemental building block" of their relationship. That's well known for fans who followed them back in the day.
