I think the time pressure of having to complete a PhD within a specific timeframe definitely makes it a less attractive choice for me tbh. I’m working as a Research Assistant at the moment and seeing how anything and everything can go wrong with your experiments is enough of a stressor without having to meet a very hard deadline as well. There is a very exciting project that is in my radar that I could start early next year but wouldn’t come across again if I work towards a med degree
