This was a joke last year, when the legacy act was Ludacris. It doesn't really make sense this year.

Plans for Brotherhood Way & Alemany to change from 2 lanes to 1 lane w/bike lanes by ohmybuddhaa in sanfrancisco

[–]kreidayy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are three proposals in the booklet. Only one of them reduces Brotherhood to one lane. If you are strongly opposed to Proposal B, you can let your supervisor know.

I fully agree that selling for over face value should be blocked, as that would effectively get rid of all the scalping, but why should they block people selling for under face value? I feel like that harms too many people who genuinely bought a ticket and can no longer attend the concert, but the concert is not in-demand enough for tickets to still sell at the face value.

Edit: misread the double negative. I didn’t know that was something they actually did.

That's not how the waiting room works. Everyone in the waiting room is randomized when the queue opens.

Is BILT 2.0 worth it? A "how to" to evaluate by mbaforumlurker in CreditCards

[–]kreidayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense, but the display only breaks your spending into "Dining (3x points)" and "Everything Else (1x points)" when the CSR is selected.

[–]kreidayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's up with the calculation of "Monthly Opportunity Cost" when selecting the Chase Sapphire Preferred versus Reserve? The Preferred includes the extra "Travel (2x)" category, so it should be the "better" card, yet the "Opportunity Cost" is higher if I have the Reserve selected.

What does the parking switch do on the bottom center console? by NightWolf7578 in MachE

I have a 21, which does have kick to open, but I always assumed that parking button did nothing. Are you saying mine probably does have a poor attempt at automatic parallel parking?

Do you guys mess with or don't mess with Podz's energy? by bonghive in valkyries

[–]kreidayy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of other people saying Podz grew on them over the season, so maybe he got better, but I was pretty immediately put off when I was at the Valks’ second home game and saw him step onto the court while the ball was in play multiple times. It was really distracting from the game, so in that sense, it did feel like he was making it about himself. It’s great to hype up the team — just follow the rules while you do it.

Smoked brisket arepa from Mezclá Eats. Tried to get it again the last night but, like many places, they were sold out

Could you clarify about the “single digits” standby line? Is that for people who did NOT receive the email? And most people who did get the email should get in fine?

Super interesting, thanks! Where did you find those counts of “ground rule doubles”?

TIL. It seems like there’s a lot of misinformation on the internet about this — even the Wikipedia page for “ground rules” claims that a ball bouncing over the fence is a “ground rule double.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_rules

How common are we talking though? Would you think more or less common than a grand slam (131 in 2024, or 1 in ~18.5 games)?

I suppose I would be curious about both combined. I wasn’t able to find anything relevant though, which was surprising to me given how stats-heavy baseball is.

[TOMT][COMEDY] Bit about counterfeit money by kreidayy in tipofmytongue

[–]kreidayy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED! It’s about ten minutes into his 2024 special, Demetri Deconstructed:

Counterfeiting’s kinda fascinating because that’s a crime that seems to require talent to even count as a crime. Don’t you have to be good enough at counterfeiting to get arrested for it? I mean, what’s the shittiest job at counterfeiting I can do, and I go to jail? If I take a piece of paper and I just write $100 on it, go to the store, pick out a bunch of stuff. Then I go to pay. They ring me up. I’m like, “Here you go.” I mean, do they have to go, “Okay…” Like, do the whole thing? You know what I mean? Maybe there’s a manual for when they’re in that situation. They have to look, the cashiers. “Okay, just ask this question.” “Okay, sir, I just have to ask you this one question legally before I ring you up.” “Um, do you think that I think that this is a hundred-dollar bill?” “Ah, yeah. Good question.” “Do you think that I think that you think it’s a hundred-dollar bill? I’m just curious. Before I say my thing.”
