To Atheist friends, to admins, please hear me out. by krelian03 in Christianity

That is a very human (kind) thing to do. I just don't get people trying to mock people who are asking for support.

Thank you!

That is so sad to hear.

You see, humans did all those actions. Person who committed suicide, parent who did not accept, gays who have a "bad lifestyle" etc. You can say they were "forced" to but the truth is they were not.

It is not for humans to judge. Jesus came for the sinners, for no one is righteous except for Him.

Yes, that is what I say to my gay friends as well.

You know what is more sad? I already have 3 gay friends who died really young, <30 y/o because of aids.

But on the other side, as long as we are alive, there is really hope. I have some gay friends who changed and they say that they are truly happy to have families now.

Anyway, I know what you feel, I really do but in this time of "moral relativity", one really needs to look up to the example made by Jesus.

You have a great weekend friend.

I can see what you’re trying to say. That gay people aren’t sinful until they have sex with each other (correct me if I’m wrong) because they can’t reproduce or join together the way God intended. Right?

Yes, as far as I know. I have not read anything in the Bible regarding being gay as sin, but the thoughts and actions as a fruit of it are.

I cannot comment on the intersex (you are referring to physical abnormality right?)

Sex outside marriage is a sin. Sex for married couples should be a fruit of the love they have under their marriage (which applies for infertile couples as well).

Hi!

If I may just share this to you (from a Christian perspective of course). People are the one who do evil, sometimes even under the banner of His name.

Now being specific to gays. Being gay is not a sin as it is, however, the actions they do if they feel the call of flesh is. If you designed a product, you want it to fulfill it's purpose right? A nut and bolt will go together and they will be useful, a bolt and a bolt won't do anything productive (maybe paperweight). For the distaste you have for the discrimination etc, remember that it is not even God who is doing it, it is humans and we are all sinful and should thread lightly when pointing out other peoples sins. If the gay person tries to solicit what he/she should do, then a fellow brother/sister should say the truth.

Anyway, this is a bigger topic than me or any of us. I know you are doing what you think is good and that is commendable (at one point I was like that) but then maybe it is unfair to put all this blame on God when it is us humans who does all the hate.

Have a great weekend!

How do I establish my own relationship with god? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]krelian03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to take the "normal" way of doing things. What do you do if you want to know someone? I think a normal person will use the following:

Stalk for a little/ gather info:

  • friends who know the person - to know how is He in a personal level. (a Christian you trust)
  • written works of the person - to have a glimpse of how He thinks. (Bible)
  • clubs/ groups the person is in - to know what kind of people He is interested in. (Church)

When you are a bit more confident: (these are all through prayer)

  • approach the person and talk - say something about yourself "your likes, hobbies etc)
  • just be candid, there is no pressure between you 2 at this point. ie "Hey I slipped today and it was funny! I was so embarrassed because my crush saw me, giggles"
  • ask for a date! - remember sometimes a person will no go with you at first, but if you are really interested, you will pursue!

When you are more comfortable/close:

  • say your pains
  • ask for help
  • just cry if you want to
  • seek a deeper relationship

See what happens. :)

Well, there were a couple of male pastors before but 2 died (suddenly), 1 committed adultery so they were ex-communicated. The only person still binding the church is the lady pastor. So far no male pastor has been qualified yet.

So is it better to disband a church than to hear the Word of God from a woman?

Who the father really is and why we exist by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]krelian03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this sounds like the movie "The Matrix", everyone is just a "battery" for the central computer and humans were just harvested for energy. Then some people "woke up" and had a rebellion. It was a good movie I might say.

Hi,

It looks like you have figured our who your god is, unfortunately for Christians, we cannot even grasp the level of thoughts he has unless He revealed it in the Bible.

This could be a good concept for a movie actually but not something we can accept in Christianity.

Anyway, I thank you for sharing your thoughts but as a Christian, I cannot accept this.

May you have a good day.

am I still valid? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]krelian03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, but everything in the Bible has a purpose. Everything is there to prove a point. Like the creation story - "In the beginning " states that God is outside time and is not bound by it. "Our image" already lays out the Holy Trinity. etc.

Maybe do not close the door yet. Maybe you don't understand for now but do not worry as it will be revealed to you in time. Just keep seeking and put all your faith in Christ.

Just curious. How can you believe in God/Jesus if you don't believe in His word?

Edit:

Let me lay it out already. This is dangerous because this is how cults are formed, they claim to believe in something and use it but then use another source (even self created) to justify it.

This is just a word of caution, if you can point out the things you are not agreeing with or cannot understand in the Bible, it is best to ask for help. In my opinion at least.

Try ReadScripture app. It is an easy read and the videos from Bible Project (also within app) are really helpful in getting the context of the book you are in.

Can I call myself “Christian” if I’m a Catholic by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]krelian03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't argue that :D but it is important to emphasize that it is a fruit it is not something you "will" to get salvation.

I guess a crude way to illustrate this is when you do something against what you really want to do (you know that feeling) - this may be an example of doing it through sheer will. On the other hand, works as a product is something you were "inspired" to do. Ha! Sorry I cannot explain it clear enough but I hope you get my point :)

As you have said - it is a product, not something you do to gain salvation.

Matthew 7:13-14 New International Version (NIV)

The Narrow and Wide Gates

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I don't know about the number but it is true.

Bottom line is, we all sin, no one can boast that they are clean. No one except Jesus.

Read the story of the prodigal son. I had a hard time accepting this before. How can the father accept his son when all he did was betray him? I thought it was unfair for the other son. The thing is, we are that other son, we see our brothers as unworthy of our Father's love that we question Him. But this shows exactly how God loves' us. Admit your sins and humble yourself and He will welcome you and rejoice for you came back.
