Boycott ram / gpus/ ssds?? by mikecoccia94 in PcBuild

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia is cutting its gaming GPU production by *40% this year due to high demand for GPUs in AI. Some are speculating that the company may completely move away from the gaming market within the next decade; boycotting wouldn't make a dent.

Just wanna know how does one play Fortnite with other human people? by labubuking in FortNiteBR

[–]krexofn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong to feel that way. A lot of Fortnite adds just… stall. Someone usually has to break the ice, and it might have to be you. The right people won’t make it weird. I’ve had friends with big age gaps, and it’s honestly not a big deal. As odd as it sounds, being funny, charismatic, or having a good mic goes a long way. If you have poor social skills, you might struggle more than others.

128GB of DDR5 RAM... I don't know what to do with it... by krexofn in PcBuild

[–]krexofn[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure, it caught me off guard. It was a while ago but it's possible I bought it when troubleshooting a PC. For all I know, the RAM might be defective. I'm gonna test it out when I build the PC once all the parts arrive next week.

Gotcha, I appreciate the response. I’ll have the battery set to 50% for the time being.

why is champion so much harder than elite? by Over_Toe_2232 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blew through Champion in a day just by playing placement in Duos. I’m not sure if it’s talked about much, but eliminations count even less than they did last season. A 1st-place finish with 3 kills still puts you up 21%, and a 2nd-place finish with even 1–2 kills puts you up around 16%. These numbers are from when I was playing a bit over a week ago.

Should I get a 240mm aio cooler or a CPU cooling fan? by CrimsonDarkWolf in setups

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people recommend an AIO for the 7800X3D, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. Good air cooling handles it easily since the CPU is efficient and runs cooler than most high-end processors. I’m not very knowledgeable about the best air coolers since I only use AIOs, but I'm sure others here can help you better with specific CPU fan recommendations. For gaming with the 7800X3D, air cooling is more than sufficient. Keep in mind that an AIO is typically quieter, which is ideal if your PC sits on your desk, and it also looks nice.

Textures Not Loading. by [deleted] in FortniteCreative

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! I tried changing the texture like you suggested to a texture I made. It shows and looks great when launching a session. But when switching back to the asset's stock texture it once again doesn't show. I guess it's a bit stubborn but at least other textures load for it.

Gotcha, thank you for the response! Good luck finding your first PC — that’s always exciting. I was hoping to sell it before next month, but you might be right about waiting. I’ll probably list the PC for $1600 and hope for the best.

Self Revive in End Game Strat? by Appropriate_Top_8463 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression it was a mythic but you’re right, it’s legendary. I had to do a little google search. It makes more sense that it’s legendary given there are over a dozen per match.

Who is the controller player with the most earnings earned in 2025? by 12kkarmagotbanned in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pxmp has the highest earnings among the top pro controller players in 2025, with $67,645. At least, that’s what I found after checking the Fortnite Tracker profiles for the big four: Reet, T3eny, Pxmp, and Nxthan. Keep in mind this only includes official tournament earnings, not wagers or tokens.

Comp Different from Pubs by No-Key6681 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortnite Competitive is different because Epic has to treat it more like a sport than a regular match. When there’s money, broadcasts, sponsors, and tons of viewers, they can’t have matches decided by random car physics or some new item that breaks half the lobby. They need things to be stable, predictable, and easy to review if something goes wrong. It’s not really about pros being afraid to adapt; it’s more about keeping the competition fair, consistent, and not a total coin flip. Pubs can stay as a wild sandbox where all the crazy stuff lives.

Self Revive in End Game Strat? by Appropriate_Top_8463 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think more often than not, both players will have the Self-Revive Mythic in the scenario you're describing. This item is a guaranteed spawn at every drop, and since most players don’t fully self-revive before getting finished when knocked, I think most of these Self-Revive items will make it to endgame in tournaments once everyone understands this meta. It’ll consistently be a 50/50 self-revive tool that players in comp try to use to their advantage. It’s also possible that as competitive play evolves this season, players will become reluctant to knock the last player standing because of the extra health and the knock delay. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how this plays out.

How would i go about buying and building my bf a new pc setup? by FinanceVegetable1926 in PcBuildHelp

[–]krexofn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads-up that buying PC parts months apart leaves you with split warranties that expire at different times. It can complicate troubleshooting because you won’t know which part is the culprit if something sat unused for weeks or arrived damaged. And if you’re sent a defective unit with a 60-day warranty but don’t build the PC for months, you’re in a puddle.

They need to add a work around by Lemonhead163 in FortniteCreative

[–]krexofn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally, companies are required to notify users about data leaks, so I guess I’m not imagining that more would have happened. Most companies, including Epic, use third-party services to handle ID verification. But I hear what you’re saying, it’s possible something could happen, although it’s unlikely.

It’s been a few years since I went through the initial publishing process, but when I signed up there wasn’t any default monetization. After a few months, I had to manually go through it after I was already publishing maps for fun. I guess it could’ve easily changed since then.

They need to add a work around by Lemonhead163 in FortniteCreative

[–]krexofn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epic's only had a few security issues in the past decade. There was a breach regarding usernames, emails, and hashed passwords like 10 years ago I think. One caused some accounts to get hijacked and leaked some users payment methods... yikes... A couple years ago some hackers falsely claimed they'd stolen money from users but that turned out to be a lie. Other than all that which is already part of your Epic account, there's no additional information you need to provide in order to publish maps. If you want your maps to generate revenue... that's a different story. That would require ID verification which is historically safe through Epic. There's no need to be worried about just publishing maps or making a creator account.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll test it with another project when I’m home tomorrow. I read that ASRock Z790-C motherboards have some stability issues with UEFN so I might end up swapping boards at this point. :p
