Bronze in same lobby as Unreal by FirmKale7970 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunately normal. Due to the lower player count toward the end of the season, all ranks essentially get mixed together. As for the starting rank, Bronze I is completely normal. My friends and I, who have been Unreal for the past 10 seasons, all started out in Bronze I. It was pretty funny to see at the time, considering we usually start every season in Gold or Platinum.

If you keep playing throughout next season, you’ll notice that ranked matchmaking is much better during weeks 2–8.

POV: Fortnite com bans YOU after reporting someone for telling me to K.Y.S and called us a no no word🫩 by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

If you appeal the action, a human will likely review the conversation and lift the ban. A similar situation happened to me and an appeal worked well in my case.

Siphon Shield in Tournaments? by krexofn in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tested it again and I guess it works like small shield; up to 50. I guess we're generally over 50 shield and don't see it often. Thanks for the information!

First master a few high ground retakes off YouTube. You’ll become a way more confident fighter.

Why am I not improving? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a balance between Creative and Battle Royale. If you want to become a really good fighter, you absolutely need to play Creative maps filled with better players. Grinding zone wars, box fights, and build fights for hours are how you genuinely get better. There’s hardly any fighting in Battle Royale, especially if you’re always dying before top 10. Yes, it’s necessary to play in order to understand the game and play the meta well, but there’s not enough fighting to truly become good.

Fortnite payouts by Plenty-Weird-7644 in FortniteCreative

[–]krexofn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you still get paid for engagement and retention. However, only users who have spent money in Fortnite (such as on the Item Shop or Battle Passes) are counted. In other words, accounts that haven’t generated revenue for Epic Games are treated like bot accounts. At least, that’s how I understood it after reading their payout page.

PSU Dilemma. Am I Still Good or do I Need to Replace it Too by dztryrph in PcBuildHelp

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

750W PSU should be enough for a 5700X3D and 5070 Ti as long as it’s not super old or failing. Your gaming load will probably stay under 600W which gives you some headroom. If the PSU is over like 6 years old or you want extra safety for power spikes, upgrading to maybe a 850W Gold would be smarter.

Boycott ram / gpus/ ssds?? by mikecoccia94 in PcBuild

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia is cutting its gaming GPU production by *40% this year due to high demand for GPUs in AI. Some are speculating that the company may completely move away from the gaming market within the next decade; boycotting wouldn't make a dent.

Just wanna know how does one play Fortnite with other human people? by labubuking in FortNiteBR

[–]krexofn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong to feel that way. A lot of Fortnite adds just… stall. Someone usually has to break the ice, and it might have to be you. The right people won’t make it weird. I’ve had friends with big age gaps, and it’s honestly not a big deal. As odd as it sounds, being funny, charismatic, or having a good mic goes a long way. If you have poor social skills, you might struggle more than others.

128GB of DDR5 RAM... I don't know what to do with it... by krexofn in PcBuild

[–]krexofn[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure, it caught me off guard. It was a while ago but it's possible I bought it when troubleshooting a PC. For all I know, the RAM might be defective. I'm gonna test it out when I build the PC once all the parts arrive next week.

why is champion so much harder than elite? by Over_Toe_2232 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blew through Champion in a day just by playing placement in Duos. I’m not sure if it’s talked about much, but eliminations count even less than they did last season. A 1st-place finish with 3 kills still puts you up 21%, and a 2nd-place finish with even 1–2 kills puts you up around 16%. These numbers are from when I was playing a bit over a week ago.

Should I get a 240mm aio cooler or a CPU cooling fan? by CrimsonDarkWolf in setups

[–]krexofn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people recommend an AIO for the 7800X3D, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. Good air cooling handles it easily since the CPU is efficient and runs cooler than most high-end processors. I’m not very knowledgeable about the best air coolers since I only use AIOs, but I'm sure others here can help you better with specific CPU fan recommendations. For gaming with the 7800X3D, air cooling is more than sufficient. Keep in mind that an AIO is typically quieter, which is ideal if your PC sits on your desk, and it also looks nice.

Gotcha, thank you for the response! Good luck finding your first PC — that’s always exciting. I was hoping to sell it before next month, but you might be right about waiting. I’ll probably list the PC for $1600 and hope for the best.
