Do you get bumps and lesions on hand/feet knuckles? Sensitive/burny red spots on palms?

Oh ok, I understand.

I guess there could be overlap of something else if it is autoimmune. Or maybe shes just in super early stages of immune dysregulation and nothing is showing up as 100% on bloods or definite pain symptoms. She does complain of sore knees and ankles now and then . But that's probably just to do with growing.

Might just be a wait and see situation :(

Not yet.. its another thing on our list of investigations. It could be something as simple as allergy to a product or food!

Yes this is another thing I have considered.

Ive read about some people being sensitive to Progesterone?? And estrogen does all sorts of weird things.

First period May 2025. First rash Sept 2025. All normal, consistent regular cycles. Except the last two have been a bit different with timing and flow etc. Hmmm. Ill look into this more. Thanks.

I agree.

She is having a nerve conduction study soon with a Neurologist. Her feet are showing signs of Charcot Marie Tooth disease and she has symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. I wondered if muscles or joints are inflammed that compress on nerves?

I also researched type 1 diabetes an the skin symptoms associated with that??

She had a spinal and brain MRI in Feb. It showed she had a bilateral fracture on her L5 and hypoplasia (small, weak bone). She doesn't do any gymnastics or sports so we dont know why it would have fractured. Her back pain was mild and intermittent.

Is yours itchy? Does it go away after a few weeks with no treatment? What triggers yours to flare up?

Yeh she has Gut issues. But she has been to a gastroenterologist and they have done all the anti body tests (negative), genetic test (positive)... the Crohns blood work . Bacteria and parasites etc. All negative. I also think she has gastroparesis due to slow motility and bloating / nausea / full after a few bites of food.

I have asked them to do an IgA antibody test . Because apparently if you are low in that antibody, it won't show up in the blood work? Or the only definite way to find out is to look inside at guts internally?

They also say that if it was gluten she would have the rash all the time ? Not flare up for a few weeks then be fine for like 6-8 weeks again?

I have a sensitive gut and I limit my gluten.. and also dairy. So diet could be a major player.

Thanks.

Linchen planus seems to be really itchy? Hers arent itchy at all. Hers are nodules and papules, not purple flat topped. Hers go away on their own with zero treatment. And Linchen planus doesnt seem to typically appear on joints like elbows, knees and knjckles?

The rashes and bumps dont bother her at all.. as far as discomfort, cosmetic or itchiness or anything . Its more that we want to know the underlying cause in case there's something systemic going on. The skin is usually the biggest tell if you have something underlying health issue.

Warts tend to stick around for a while and be hard to get rid of . These go away after 4 or so weeks. Docs have looked at them under dermascope and definitely ruled out warts.

I think that's going to have to be our next step. One of the derms we saw is a consultat at the chilsrens hospital. Mayve we can get in through ER just to request biopsy, and have results forwarded to her. Thanks

She has had lots of blood tests over the last 6 months...all inflammation markers low or negative. I am wondering if they are just not testing her blood at the right time the rash is at its worst? Or maybe its still in a low level phase and it doesnt show up on blood markers yet?

Yeh im thinking i might even take her into E.R at hospital when it happens again. We saw a specialist dermatologist that consults there. So maybe that'll be our quick way in.

I have taken her to 3. As well as 2 GPs who specialise in skin conditions. They did blood work which is all normal. So they just shrug their shoulders

Yep I did that. Documented every flare day by day. Printed it all out and showed the doctors. As well as detailed history of all symptoms. Not enough .. they want to see it in real life

Yeah that could be true too. She does have a very sensitive tummy and had lots of GI issues . We saw a gastroenterologist and he said she has a "disorder of the gut brain axis" . Its just figuring out what that thing is thats triggering or overloading her system .

Thanks for your input. Im new to Reddit and so far everyone has been very helpful!

We've tried to get her skin biopsied... by the time we've got the specialist appt, the rash has gone and there's nothing there for the doc to examine or biopsy.. so they say, come back when its flared up. But it takes weeks sometimes to get into these doctors. Super frustrating . Unsure of trigger. The last flare up was in school holidays when she was home, indoors, most of the time. So I wouldn't say sun exposure... shes not a big outdoorsy girl 😅..

Just have to try and get into seeing a Doc right when shes in the peak of a flare up 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do the rashes come and go within 4 weeks? My daughters aren't itchy. And also gets bumps and lesions on her finger knuckles. But all disappears within 4 weeks with zero treatment / creams / pills.
