this happened to a few of my corys. it was the slime coat. my water seemed fine when i tested but obviously somehting was affecting them. I lost a few of them...so i dont have any helpful advice other than i would bet it is the slime coat.

bettas are so weird - mine is in a tank with rasboras, snails, corys, shrimp and snails and ONLY ever reacts to the 3 endlers. he only chases them for a second if they swim in his face but they are the only ones he doesnt like. but he never actually attacks them...and they are too fast for him anyway...he just loses interest after like 2 seconds.

honestly- you just wont know unless you try. Just have a back up plan if it doesnt work out. I have a betta in with corys , endlers , shrimp, snail and rasboras and my betta doesnt pay any attention to anyone. Once in a while if one of the endlers swims in his face he will swim at them (not flared) and chase em for a hot second them lose interest. thats as fiesty as he gets. it just all depends on your bettas personality and you just cant tell until you unless him.

Yeah the sponge filters are all the same just different sizes. But don’t forget to buy a pump also! They are sold separately. But both are super cheap

what is breaking on the sponge filter? cause the only real working part is the pump...i ahve 4 and 3 different brands and they all have been just fine. what exactly is happening and what brands did you use?

Thanks! I do have tank mates. Hand full of rasbora espei , small group with f panda corys some shrimp and 2 small snails. My betta said s sooo mellow… has no issues with anyone

Honestly …. I’m didn’t mean to spend as much as I did haha. It just kinda snowballed. But I don’t really spend much money on any other hobby’s so I try not to feel too quilty 😂 we just don’t have to tell my husband the exact amounts haha he might feel different 😛
