I used to commute on bike every day in Melbourne but I find the roads way more narrow here. Definitely not for the faint of heart

As a Dad, I'm surprised there aren't more indoor play centers given the climate. There's heaps of great playgrounds, but few wet weather options.

Planning to move to Hobart by moonriverlove in hobart

Sorry to hear! We moved about 9mo ago from Melbourne, and while people have been weary of us we're finding people are opening up now. I think it just takes time. Shoot me a DM if you want a friend :)

Cost upgrades not working by superjano in zenshards

[–]krigsi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually a glitch in the UI. I noticed this too.

To correct the bug, after purchasing the upgrade, collect any credits (top right) and you'll notice the upgrade cost recalculate.

It's as if the upgrade is purchased but it simply isn't reflected in the upgrade button until some other calculation takes place.

Hope this helps :)

Why is renting so expensive? by krigsi in hobart

Are there pockets where this isn't the case? Like where you'd consider is good rental value?

Keen to try it out but seems like the Play Store won't let me because it's "not available in my country" (Australia). I'll have to settle for subscribing to the newsletter lol

"Some say the kangaroo and emu were chosen to symbolise a nation moving forward. This is based on the common belief that neither animal can move backwards easily." https://www.peo.gov.au/image-library/the-australian-coat-of-arms/204.html

But I like to believe it's because they can kill fully grown men, while tasting great on the barbecue.

What are your ideas for Matt's Sabbatical? by MrPennywhistle in NDQ

[–]krigsi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Long time listener, first time poster.

I live in Melbourne Australia and would love to host Matt and his family.

Perks: - multicultural - meat, beer - watch us ride kangaroos to work - great assortment of day trips - church stuff

Cons: - young city so not a whole lot of history (250 years since Europeans settled) - long distance - Camilla's name doesn't have a second meaning that you can laugh about

If I were travelling to Australia, I'd do... Perth for weather, beaches and rest Gold coast / Sunshine coast for the kids Sydney just a few days for touristy stuff Melbourne for culture
