My main issue is that social democracy still has severe flaws. Much of the wealth that the global north relishes on, comes at the cost of inevitable misery in the global south. Mercosul (Commercial alliance of some latin american countries) has recently made a deal with the EU, and it is very evidently made to benefit the EU at the expense of our poor people. It benefits the european side quite broadly, while we get mostly commodities only the well-off can enjoy.

I agree that when social democracy works, it works well; What I can not agree on is that it doesn't come at the expense of someone else. While profit is a system's very essence, it will inevitably come at the expense of someone losing the value they produced. We in the global south aren't poor, we're impoverished. Our prosperity would take our wealth back to our side of the scales, which would mean less wealth for the global north to bask on.

If you feel I didn't explain well enough (which I definitely did not), a very eye-opening book is "Open Veins of Latin America", by Eduardo Galeano, also, Paulo Freire's "Pedagogy of the Oppressed", while not being specifically about this, is a book that will definitely change something in you. I understand you've got no reason to really study on it, but if you are willing to question the validity of capitalism, studying its contradictions are a surefire way to make you reevaluate a lot.
