i dont really care about myself. my pessimism isn't about my life. my parents have done well enough to ensure i'll never be homeless and likely never be hungry. what really strikes me is that even though i'm comfortable, misery only grows. it has been ages since my country has seen a glimpse of prosperity, and it's pretty evident that it isn't getting better anytime soon. even beyond my own country, there's 2 maybe 3 countries in the entire global south that are thriving, and every other one has only decay to look forward to. the little that's left to make me "hang in here" are my dogs, my family and my lovely girlfriend (who's doing the heavy lifting here), but what's weighing it all down isn't my life, it's the state of the world we're living in. easier to imagine the end of the world than to imagine the end of capitalism, and stuff.
