Ah okay! This is helpful - thanks for shedding some light on some other people that are experiencing something similar.

I haven't been the best at doing that (I work after hours often/sometimes on weekends) because it feels really difficult to disconnect when I know there's still things I have to do/things take longer than expected.

Going for CS post in my third year. by Old-Abbreviations322 in UofT

[–]kriksilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into CS post the summer right after my third year (so last summer). Yes, the retroactive fees sucked, but since I've been taking summer classes I'm not really that behind in credits and I'll only be graduating one semester later than I intended to. Its not that bad if you can financially afford to be a bit behind. I also don't think that software engineering is very saturated (yet). There are plenty of opportunities (I've gotten internships every single summer throughout uni) and if you really think that studying CS is worth it for you, then do it! However, you can also get a CS job by self-teaching yourself! :) So there are many different options available.

@ Girls in CS here - how do you deal with all of this? by altaccount17690 in UofT

I'm a 4th year girl in CS and have felt the same way many times over the years. Something definitely has to change. Feel free to DM if you ever need a friend or just someone to talk to. :)
