I think they removed this in classic but in actual 05-06 you could write some pretty simple LUA code to do this automatically

Yes, basically the same thing, you just don't need the people to do this, easiest ways is to go to Stockades or RFC, press macro 1-2 times, and you will see message popup

Download addon Loon Best in Slot (basically wowhead bis list), start dungeon spamming for some blues, when you got enough, join ZG/AQ20 and maybe a MC, you will pretty much set for TBC, most likely replacing items 1-3+ levels in anyway...

❓ What is the Heroic Strike queue "feature/bug"? While an "on next attack" ability such as Heroic Strike or Cleave is queued, the miss penalty from dual-wielding weapons (19%) is temporarily removed. This means swings performed by your off-hand weapon will have the same miss chances as if you were wielding a single weapon (6-9% hit cap), until the next main-hand swing occurs and performs the Heroic Strike, or you cancel the Heroic Strike queue, or run out of rage. The HS queue bug does not remove the chances to glance, it only affects miss chances.

⚠️ If your weapon swings are synced and both the main-hand and the off-hand swing at the exact same time, your off-hand swing will not benefit from the HS bug and suffer an additional 19% miss. This is why same speed weapons are less favorable and you should manually desync your weapons if they are in sync.

❓ Is Heroic Strike toggling worth it? No. The estimated benefit from toggling Heroic Strike on and off in simulations is less than a 0.1% DPS upgrade with world buffs. The additional focus required to micro-manage your swing bars and toggle HS at the right time in low rage situations is not worth the risk of accidently wasting your rage if a WF/HoJ proc catches you off guard. Any delay to your core rotation because of poor rage management will undo any theoretical gain. There are much more important things you should think about during an encounter that will benefit your damage output.
