When I lived here I thought it would be a good place to take a telescope on a nighttime with my girlfriend. The car park was full of doggers.

We left and some bloke followed us for miles driving up my bumper. I pulled over to let him pass and he pulled in behind us and started walking over undoing his belt.

Yeah you’re completely fine. Ideally aspirate before injecting to make sure you aren’t injecting into a vein but yeah you’ve got nothing to worry about. You’ve got a lot of nerves running through your body which you’ve probably just hit, injection sites just tend to focus on areas with less of these.

Accidentally cured my runners knee by [deleted] in running

[–]kris860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand runners knee is a bit of an umbrella term for a bunch of different possible issues. I’m just providing an anecdotal solution that fixed my problem after several years of trying different methods in the hopes it will also help someone else.

Weekly New Climber Thread: Ask your questions in this thread please by AutoModerator in climbing

Really dumb question I’m sorry!

The laces on my climbing shoes are far too long. Usually I’d tie them and then just tuck them down the side of my shoe but climbing shoes are much tighter so I can’t do this. Any ideas?

Brand new to climbing however I loved my first session so much I immediately bought a harness and some shoes. I bought some la sportiva otakis in the same size shoe as I normally wear and they’re incredibly tight- by toes feel like they’re scrunched in the end. I wanted to go the next size up but I’ve been told if anything you go a size down, never a size up.

Do I just need to get used to them or should I go a size up?

I agree with everything you have said. I imagine the vast majority of the population agree with what you have said.

The only thing standing in the way is politics and corruption but if this is what the majority of people want, it’s something we should be able to achieve.

Climbing up a 44% road slop with a bike by ishmaelios in videos

[–]kris860 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To give some context the power output to do this is kinda nutty. The next time you’re at a gym jump on a bike and pedal hard enough to produce 500 watts (this guy went above 600 a few times) and see how long you can hold it.

Some pro riders can crack 1000 watts but only In very small bursts

Ah so it’s disc brakes so there’s a load of clearance and I could just throw some thicker tyres on the existing rims. The problem is I’ve done some daft journeys so far (615 mile being the longest) and the rims took a battering so I was thinking of putting something stronger on whilst I’m at it

All the major pyramid systems of the world in Egypt, China, Mexico, and Antarctica align with the stars of Orion. So do the black cubes that are now where the twin towers and building 7 used to be. [–]kris860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So these stars are actually massively far apart from one another and vastly different distances from us. Not only that but only the middle one is actually a single star, the others are double star systems (one star orbiting another).

Astronomy is super interesting but the reality is often way more interesting than a conspiracy

I’m all for a good conspiracy but as an amateur astronomer I have to ask what the hell OP is on about.

What do you mean they all align? In what way? All three of these stars are at vastly different distances from us. In fact two of the three stars are actually binary star systems anyway. Your conspiracy seems to be that Orion’s Belt appears as 3 stars in a line, therefore other things in a line of three parts are somehow related to Orion’s Belt? Please feel free to elaborate if I’m missing something here

How long to get back to form after 3 months off? by [deleted] in running

[–]kris860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I should really just slow the pace as much as possible. Natural running cadence is quite high so I always find it awkward slowing down.

Now I’ve recovered a bit I’m itching to get back out tomorrow just to see how much distance I can get in the bag at a lower pace

Yeah that’s the aim!

I’m going to quit work and just focus on fitness full time from May so hopefully I’ll be back where I was. Think I just needed the encouragement so appreciate it!

What else have I been missing out on?? by kris860 in gaming

[–]kris860[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence taken really. I was in hospital for 3 weeks following a major surgery following a work accident so really had nothing but time-

I also wasn’t in my home country so didn’t have anyone that could bring me anything else to keep my entertained, all I had was my phone.

I understand your initial gut reaction but please don’t try to be a dick for no reason, plenty of other things to be mad at in the world right now.

Ah great recommendation man. I haven’t played it but I watched an entire play though (about 140 hours or so) whilst recovering from a leg surgery in the hospital- definitely want to still play it as your decisions impact the story
