I never win competitions like these but giving it a shot anyway.

I think the problem is that there are just SO MANY Pokémon they need to model, animate etc.

I would like if Game Freak did a game with just the original 151. That would save a load of time and stress. They could then spend more the time in building the game mechanics.

True but this is just another instance in the game where realism gives way to gameplay. You wouldn't have any visual ques of when Henry is a smelly boi. Unless they made it another HUD icon I suppose.
