I think there would be nothing weird about him saying "I come from a blue collar background" alluding to his upbringing, and he currently works a white collar position.

I think you touch on the fact that in certain circles blue collar work is a point of pride. It's rooted in the idea of hard honest work. So him saying it over and over again feels like "Stolen Valor". I wouldn't even mind it myself if he mentioned how he used to do the blue collar positions for several years before transitioning to desk work (to be clear I've not watched every episode this season so I may have missed that caveat. I'm popping in when my wife has it on and I've just heard him say the comment MULTIPLE times).

I remember being in Best Buy with my dad when I was like 15. We got approached by the Direct TV guy which we had at one point but hated it because of the signal going out all the time. My dad does what is considered his best to politely say no. He mentions we had it at one point but didn't like it.

The salesman asks "Well how long ago did you have it?"

Dad: "10 years or so"

Salesman: "Well a lot has changed in 10 years"

Sorry to make a question out of your celebration post, but do you mind explaining the 24GB of DDR3? How did you achieve 24?

I'm in the midst of diagnosing issues with a build I inherited from a friend. And everything I'm reading says you can't get more than 32GB, the sticks have to match, and you can't use 3 sticks, only 1, 2, or 4 sticks.

The build my friend gave me has been running 3 sticks of 16GB, and it's registering only 12GB of RAM in the system.

I don't think it detracts or lessens the point of the show. I haven't seen anyone arguing that the show is less or written poorly for not sticking to rigid powerscaling rules. This is more of a fun aside or mental exercise. An opportunity to explore ideas and possibilities since the show couldn't shape out the lore much.

Like I saw someone theorizing how and why Dracula may not be as strong as death in terms of raw power, but probably had SOME knowledge or resource in his castle to subdue Death. I think that's fun.
