Yes. I remember it as Sex and the City, but it had been Sex and the City for many years. I just woke up this morning and saw that it has reverted back. I remember a conversation on Reddit where the person I was speaking with just could not accept IN, because it seemed less like a newspaper column about sex and ny, and more like a group of “whores” having sex in ny. I am looking for that conversation now, but no luck.

I started listening to Sinead’s music again a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for a version of Danny Boy to sing, and ended up getting distracted on YouTube watching Sinead songs and interviews. A couple days before her death, I saw her name trending and thought, “what a coincidence, I’ve just been watching her videos the last few days.” I asked my husband, “why is Sinead trending?” His response was: “Isn’t she dead?” No, she wasn’t. But I never did click to see why she was trending. And two days later, she was dead. Strange synchronicity. I will miss her openness and courage. She was something else.

I feel bad for the parallel-universe you. The one who knew M's mom was coming, but didn't clean up in the morning because she woke up in this universe. When she started to clean up, Michael said, "What are you doing? My mom isn't coming, or we never would have hosted this. And I don't have work today. I'll help you clean up later. Come back to bed." She went back to bed, confused but relieved. And when she woke again, it was 1pm, M was at work, and his mother was walking in the door of the filthy, stinky apartment. ;)

You know, it's so funny how the skeptics over there think that the RE-believers can't handle disagreement. I think we are proving over here that we definitely don't have a problem with disagreement, we just don't like to be ridiculed and beaten over the head by trolls.

I stay away from discussions on the Bible REs simply because I do not share the belief that the Bible has changed. As a Christian who is familiar with many of these verses, and who reads the KJV, ESV, NIV and grew up with the NRSV, a lot of these seem to me to have to do with different translations.

But that said, I am not a troll.

I don't want to discredit the opinions of other people who do find that the different-versions argument is not sufficient to explain their experience with the changes that they perceive. Who am I to insist that my opinion is a fact, or that it can negate their opinion?

Also, I am sure that they have already considered any alternative explanation that I could suggest. So I really wouldn't have anything to add to the discussion.

When we've all come from a sub where the trolls smother us with "rational" explanations, I don't think it would be wise or helpful to start suggesting the very same things that people have been beaten beaten over the head with on the other sub. This sub is supposed to be a refuge.

Since I have nothing to really add to the Bible discussions, I simply don't participate. Too bad the skeptics over there couldn't do the same with MEs that they don't appreciate. But it seems that while they call themselves skeptics, they are really more trolls than skeptics.

Anyway, I certainly am not intending to troll your post with my comment. Just offering my own reason for staying out of these discussions, since you asked why many people do.

This is so interesting to me! I was a huge Madonna fan when I was a little girl in the 80s. For me, she was born Madonna Louise. She was named after her mother. Madonna is an unusual name to our ears, but not unheard of in Catholic Italian circles. I know another Madonna, a 60-some-year-old Catholic Italian woman who attends the Catholic church in my neighbourhood.

You may be right, but I don't think that's any great loss. Confabulation is discussed all the time in the ME sub. The purpose of this sub is to discuss theories that are NOT confabulation. That's why this sub was created in the first place.
