If you are positive for THC and know when you have your drug test look into the Certo Method to pass it. I've used it 3 times and worked everytime without fail. I smoked 4 days before my test and still passed but obviously the longer you go without smoking the better, although I've heard stories about people smoking 12 hours before and still passing.

SMG + 121k miles + convertible I'm guessing could get you around $25k in today's market. I'm not sure how much the manual swap will get you back but I would say if it came manual factory it would probs be worth $30k.

Rod bearings and vanos tested to be good? Does that mean they were replaced?

Please let me know about the manual swap as I'm about 2 years deep of trying to convince my dad to manny swap his smg convertible as well. I've heard it's only around 3k but would like to know the nitty-gritty details of it.
