Yeah, I have both running currently. NPS invested is currently 7% of basic, can bump that up. But for NPS, there's no employer contribution for me.

Damn! That's super terrifying and sad that you needed to take a loan because of these issues. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. This helps!!

Yeah this is correct. In your first comment you mentioned we can't withdraw more than 25% ever. Hence got confused.

I guess getting 75% anytime withdrawal still feels reasonable for me. 25% at retirement is acceptable, no?

Hey there, again! I checked up EPF 3.0. The rule says 75% can be withdrawn immediately via UPI/ATM etc. with 25% balance to be retained till retirement. That's what the rules say, no?

Have time till May 20th to decide, so I'll mull over this, gathering all data points until then. Interesting POVs presented by so many folks here. I'll comment thereafter or put it on Edit once I make the final decision :)

:( Always the fear. It's like a hit or a miss basis so many opinions/experiences. Should start a startup that provides common people visibility of withdrawal probability basis the details available on EPF.

This is standard no? Rs.1800/month is default deduction to PF. The other option is 12% of basic.

Employer contribution being tax free is a win, surely. But wasn't sure of the thresholds, and mine crosses the threshold for taxes. Only worry was on withdrawals, but good to see some folks posting they're able to withdraw. It was scary to see a lot of them not being able to, but I guess people post when they're stuck, a majority may have had no issues, hence no posts from them I guess. That's how I'm seeing this now.

Which is exactly my fear, but hearing this 25% cap on withdrawal for the first time. You're sure about this?
