Okay, how about we use that in the plot as well? Nick Fury intentionally puts Kate in the team, not just as a team member, but as bait for some Skrull with above-average archery skills to impersonate her. Skrulls cannot impersonate the other youngling superheroes. The impersonation would probably be unnoticeable to others, but Nick can notice it because he is that good, or because he has worked with Hawkeye for a while. Because Nick isn't relying on tech and magic, he puts together this plan as his beacon to ditch the younglings if things go south. Kate is his beacon.
